Source code incorrect information  en

Everytime I upload my website I get the following in my source code.

<!DOCTYPE html><!-- HTML5 --><htmlprefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#" lang="en-GB" dir="ltr"><head>

Note that this is above the start of the header tag.

The question is what is this html prefix, where is this coming from and how do I get rid of it?

<htmlprefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#" lang="en-GB" dir="ltr">

When I delete it from my server and upload my pages, it shows up again?

I'm in the USA

Appreciate help

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

On my website I have two small tutorials on how to change the language, for those of us who live outside the European Union, as well as another one to change the time zone on the server and it is according to our time zone.

They are in Spanish but, there is a translator in the header.

Regards.

Miguel,

1. This is helpful but I have my language in step 1 set to english. Do I have to go elsewhere and change the language? Where is this menu below?

2. This is only one part of my problem. The other problem is that this > <htmlprefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#" lang="en-GB" dir="ltr"> ends up at the top of my website?

To see this menu, it is in STEP 1 - Content Language Option, Icon on the right.

Already in the menu you look for en_EU which is the local code for English in Europe. You are going to replace it with: en_US, which is the code for the United States.
NOTE: It is underscore. _

The lines to edit are:
culture-id: en_EU
lang-code: en_EU
We will change them to:
culture-id: en_US
lang-code: en_US

I did tests with your language and country, and I think you just have to edit the previous lines that I already described.

It is a matter of checking if the code of our country already appears in the code. In your case it should appear es_US.

It is likely that every time you reinstall or update the program you would have to change those lines.

Now, regarding the code that appears: en_GB
that's code for the UK.

Did you put extra code to change the language?
If it is affirmative, you would have to delete that extra code.

No need for extra third party code (meta tags)

In my version of the wsx5 program, the en_EU code appears for English and not en_GB

With the modifications that are made, it is enough for it to no longer appear en_GB.
It should appear en_US

Finally, if you have problems with the time zone, in the other tutorial I did, you can change it on your server (.htaccess file) according to your locality.

Miguel,

I changed them to:
culture-id: en_US
lang-code: en_US

You said, it is likely that every time you reinstall or update the program you would have to change those lines. I just deleted all my files and uploaded them again with the above changes and this is what happened.

<htmlprefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#" lang="en-US" dir="ltr">

Now I have a new problem, this shows, see below

<head> <htmllang = “en”>…</html> I have no idea where this came from? Have any ideas about this?

Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it.

Dennis

Hi Dennis:

Is your site the one you have here in your profile?

https://www.gridirongold.com

if that's right, I already see the correct code.

I don't see those strange characters.

1) Have you already cleared cookies and cache in your browser?

2) To be sure. In the content languages section... check if you only have the English language selected.

I think it's point 1: the browser's cache and cookies.

Regards.

Regarding changing those lines when doing a reinstall or update. This is because, by doing so, the language can override it with en_EU, which is the default.

It is a problem with the wsx5 developers since it is not difficult for them to add the languages for Spanish Mexico, English USA, and other Latin American countries.

wsx5 is growing and more languages and regions are not added yet.

The problem for Mexico is more complicated by translation errors that fail in grammar.
