i am using clean install of the latest pro-version of x5 and have imported upgraded version of exisiting website from another pc, have been having issues with adding objects and even text to footer when adding objects such as text or a menu object they appear in the header have tried changing footer height etc but nothing works. I have been using x5 for a number of years and not come across this before with the addition of the slow downs which is rather annoying.

Hello.
1) Try temporarily disabling your antivirus, firewall and any other protection.
2) Update .NET Framework.
3) Try to make changes in a new project. For experimentation.

It appears to work fine with a new project adding objects, any ideas on how to fix\repair the footer without having to start again (Rather Large website)
try to make a copy of the project in the program itself in the initial window and change the footer in it

I think i have solved the issue, it looks like when i removed the side bar some objects had been left behind. once i had removed all objects the footer works with new objects added. I just need to find out why its so slow when updating and previewing on browser. (all empty cells have been filled with empty text objects)thanks for the help.
"I just need to find out why its so slow when updating and previewing on browser" - it may depend on the number of pages and objects on them. Perhaps your antivirus or other protection is interfering with the program. Perhaps some other programs are running that require a lot of resources. The disk may be heavily fragmented. It's hard to guess.

Update, it appears there is an issue with a HTML code object ' which states/displays when the site was last updated' if this is removed then the footer works as intended, if any changes are made or objects added they jump to the Header. Solution is to remove the HTML object make the changes or additions then add back in the HTML object after and saved and it all then works as intended. Got there in the end!
I'm glad you solved your problem.
