I am enclosing two screenshots. One from your domain DNS configuration menu depicting an invalid MX DNS record and the error I get from the external domain DNS server showing the error. What is the correct MX DNS record for this so I can finish setting this up please.

I am not worried about receiving emails. My goal is to connect the IONOS DNS to the EVO website so I can use my own domain name. As you can see from the screenshots, the IONOS DNS server doesn't recognize the MX record from website X5. The space between the 10 and mail in the record is invalid. I tried using a space or a dash which IONOS recognized as a valid format but it doesn't match the MX DNS record from the website x5 server. I just need to know the actual websitex5 MX DNS record so I can complete the connection.

Since it is Sunday in Europe, it may take longer for an answer from Incomedia.

I read the link you shared. It is a mirror image of my probem with IONOS. I wonder if Stefano is going to tell me the same thing when they come to work on Monday. I will reach out to IONOS today, since they run a 24/7 help desk to see if they have any insights. Thank you.

Update. I contacted my new domain provider and they confirmed that the MX DNS record should not have a space between any of the alpha numerical digits (10 mail.crann-bethadh.com) as your DNS system is showing. How can we correct this?

Next question: How much does Incomedia charge to transfer a domain over and maintain it? I am on a trial period with ICONOS right now and I can wait the 60 days as needed but I wish to compare.

Hello Terrance

The number 10 indicates the Priority, but not all domain providers configure this the same. In some cases, they have a separate field to insert that. Can you tell IONOS that? Maybe they have a separate field where to specify the Priority as a number.

About your other question, the price for the domain isn't set by the company itself, but it's universal. For this reason, it is likely the price you will get from us will be the exact same as you're getting on IONOS. Usually around 12-15 euros.

I remain available here

Stefano

As a matter of fact, they do. It is a seperate field. So how does that help me? When I removed the 10 from the MX record on the IONOS DNS server, it gave me a valid configuration message but I could not get your DNS server and theirs to agree on the format of the record. I kept getting an error with Incomedia when I checked the configuration because of that priority 10 being a part of the MX record in your database. If I can't make this work, I will wait and just transer the domain to your system after 60 days. I can use forwarding for now, if I have to.

I fixed the problem. I did have the MX record set righjt, I just needed to wait a few hours for the public DNS servers to pick things up. All is good now.
