Amazon affiliate Links not working

I use WordPress for my amazon affiliate marketing so i am familiar with how to use their links. I am thinking of switching to Website X5.
I was using the trial version website x5 Pro and added an Amazon link to an image and to text set as open as a test in all the different options (new window etc).
When I checked link with Amazon link checker it is not recognised, is there something special i should be doing

Hi Brian,
I also use Amazon affiliate links in my Website X5 Pro websites. I have done so for years and have never had a problem. I use affiliate links in images, text and also the online shop with one of my websites. And I do get sales.

Many thanks for taking the time to answer my question, as a new user do you use the short or long text link and is there a best option for opening link when I set it up on site (popup window, open in showbox)

Hi Brian,
I use the short link and always set the link to "open in a new tab/window; that way they can go to Amazon to see or buy the product and return to my website if they want to continue browsing my content.
I also set the <rel> attribute tag to "nofollow". This can also be done with each link setting.
