Windows 11 is giving me a headache  en

Bought a new PC - Windows 11 and that's where the issues start.

Imported the website from the external drive - all good thus far.

Uploading the problem - this is the issue.

Once connected to the server it says "Website Address or detination folder dows not match.  Do you wish to set now?"

Click yes, then destination folder.

"Server is not connected" error.

Ok, let';s try again:

"Website Address or detination folder dows not match.  Do you wish to set now?"

This time select, No.

Select destination folder.

"Server not connected"

Rip out the Windows 11 PC, reattache everything to the Windows 10 pc and it connects without any issues at all.,

Why have I just spent £700 on a brick that can't do the simple task??

If anyone has any ideas let me know but I literallt throw the new PC out the window or back to the shop.

Thanks,

Mike

Was the project in WebSite X5 on the old PC transferred to the external drive via “5 Export > Export Project”?

If so, then all the information needed to export the website to the Internet should have been correctly transferred to the new PC.

Or was the project transferred to the external drive in another way?

Hi Daniel,

It was exported via “5 Export > Export Project” and imported from the external drive to the new PC. Honestly wish I'd never bothered with Windows 11 as it's been a headache from the start.

I've now ripped out the Windows 11 machine, wired up Windows 10 and doesn't cause any issues at all. I'm going to pack up the Windows 11 unit and return to Argos and it's not fit for purpose. They'll probably say there's nothing wrong with the unit and it cannot be returned, but when it doesn't recognise printers, and causes error like this, then it's not for for purpose as I can't use it.

I did the same way on the Windows 11 to preserve the work I've done, export to external drive, and even though it said it had completed, it hasn't as it does not exist on the drive.

The website address and the folder are exactly the same so no idea what Windows 11 is doing or why it says the destination doesn't match as it does!

Filezilla was blocked from installing too.

Heigh ho heigh it's off to Argos we go LOL

If you have any suggestions at all, other then mine of returning the brick, please let me know.

Thanks

Mike

I've had a cheap laptop with Windows 11 for about 3 years and WebSite X5 runs without any problems.

So it's probably not Windows 11 itself, but perhaps the retailer can say whether the PC has a problem that they can solve.

However, it is your decision whether you want to return the computer or have the dealer or manufacturer support help you troubleshoot the problem.

Thanks Daniel.

With the number of issues I've had since day one, printer not supported, video software not supported this is the final straw.

It goes back and I'll keep with Windows 10 which has never had any issues like this,  Sadly Microsoft aren't interested.

Lenovo have been zero help. They say the software is at fault, I've said it works on Windows 10 it's just this brick that has issues,

Anyway at least we m kw it's win11 causing the issue.

Thanks Daniel for your help and understanding.

 Mike
