Access management in Version 9  en

I have created a user to access a locked page in step 4 and then assigned that user to the locked page in step 2. When testing the site I can see the notice stating that I will be asked for a username and password once the site is uploaded. My problem is I cannot see it when the site is uploaded.  Where should the log in section be?

I have tested the site using the admin manager. The results are as follows:

 PHP Version: 5.2.17  PASS

Session support   PASS

Server public folder path   PASS

MySQL settings  PASS

Hello Healy,

please test the locked page after logging out from your admin page, otherwise you have the rights to view every page of your site.

Let me know if this was your problem.

Hi Michele,

Thank you for your post. It was not the problem but led me in the right direction and I can log in now.

There is still one issue. I can access the locked page without username and password by typing using the page url directly into my browser. How do I correct this?

Hello Healy,

It shouldn't be possible to access a locked page even typing the url if you are not already logged in (as admin or user with privileges for that page).

You can test it adding a logout link in the header section using the html code button.

So, first try to disconnect the current user using the logout button and then try to access the locked page (also tyoing the url if you want to).

Hope this helps, please let me know if I can help you any further! Thank you!

Ok got it. So if a user doesn't log out they can access they locked page by typing the URL.

Have no idea how to add a log out link.

Hello Healy,

yes that's correct, if you don't log out you are still able to access the locked page (typing the url or accessing it form the menu or clicking on any link that points to it).

In order to have a log out link: go to the header section in step 1 and add a html code  object, in its setting box click the button insert Snippet, there you can select a logout link.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

I am setting up a club with members and so I want to have a members area with passwords etc. so that when new members sign up they are given a user area where they can make a profile and change password etc.

I want to create the members area of the site so that it looks just like the outer site in style and with a menu of member area features.

I know I need a registration and payment page too for the membership.

This might all sound simple but I have not got a clue how to start and please do not refer me to the video tutorial because that is hopeless. What I need is someone with  the patience to talk this through step by step.

It would be helpful of Incomedia if instead of creating endless colour design choices for websites as templates, they were to create an empty members area template with the structure all set up. I would buy that.

So I am grateful for help here.

How can anyone explain if you don't understand the web jargon? I was just like you when I started I just wished there was someone to show me instead of all the mistakes I made ha ha

I've added this to the header... but there appears there is no way of changing its appearance.... so it look s 'out of place'.

Anyway can I change the font for this object?

Hello Barry,

you can add a custom css style to your project setting a style for the span with class="imLogout" but you need to have some css knowledge in order to that.

For adding css code to all your project you need to add  your lines in step 1 -> expert tab -> HEAD section.

Hope this helps
