Is Ist Possible To Hide A Menu Level Entry From The Main Menu?

Hi,
My idea is to have sites as kind of backup, so when the user clicks on a photo he would be directed to that page. However, I do not want to show those pages in the menu tree.
So far I found that I can suppress submenu entries, but the main menu entry does still appear.

You make the menu item hidden in Sitemap Creation as attached. I have many items that are hidden but are accessable as a link. Although I haven't done so you could even hide a level, link to it and have sub menu items appear. Is this what you mean?
