Lost disc, New computer and upgrade  en

I created my website two and a half years ago using website X5 Evolution 8 (purchased July 2009). I have since lost the disc and now want to buy a new desktop computer. I would also like to upgrade to Website X5 Version 9.1. Is this software something that gets added on to my original missing disc or is it completely independent.

In other words will I have to buy the old Website X5 Evolution 8 disc and then add on the new one or does Website X5 version 9.1 stand alone. Also will it still work with my old website?

Good morning Jo!
Evo 8 and Evo 9 are independent therefore you can either use them both together or one at a time on the same computer without any problem at all. Once you will erase your Evo 8 from your computer after placing your Evo 9 you will not be able to install your Evo 9 anymore because of course, it is an upgrade.
Futhermore, Evo 8 and Evo 9 projects are compatible. You might have to change or modify something in your project after exporting because they do work differently.

i have a new computer and want to load X5 compact 8 but it will not load?

I have similar situation when I installed downloaded version 8 and upgraded it to version 9 as download.  Now I want to install it on a new computer but there is no instaruction on how to do it.  Also, I don't know if still I have donloaded version 8 on my HD.  If anybody can help me with this I greatly appreciate.

Dear michele, Ted, you have to open a new post when you have questions so that we may gather all your info together and help you solve the issue more quickly.


@Michele: please add in the new post the reason why you aren't able to install your Compact version: do you receive an error message? Could you please give us your product code?

@Ted: You can download both your programs from the ''download'' section in the top right corner of this page. After you will have to repeat the same procedure you did the first time: add your product code/licence key then register with the same email address you used the first time. If you have issues, please open a new post and secribe exaclty what you did and why you aren't able to install. Please specify if you receive an error message.
