Linking issue with Word Documnent

I'm trying to link a word to a Word Document. But in Preview it blanks out the word and there is no link. Has anyone had this happen in vs 9?

Go to Advanced Settings/Styles and Models/Page Item/Links
Make sure your links are the right colour etc....
