I have upgraded from version 9 Evolution to version 10 Evolution. Imported a version 9 project and the following problems have occurred: Videos and Flash animations don't play anymore, message saying can't load plugin displayed, any answers. In previous versions the information in row boxes automatically moved up to take up empty space between rows, this doesn't happen in version 10, I now have unwanted spaces between rows which I cannot get rid of. Any answers?

Hello Steve,
For the Videos and Flash, it is necessary to install the Flash Plugin in the new builtin preview browser to see these files. Usually, in most computer these plugins are already installed, and we cannot send them with the program, because of their licence.
Please try to open the preview of WebSite X5 and then open in the preview browser following link:
get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/?fpchrome
It will notifiy you that the plugin is already installed. You proceed to install it since it's not present in this browser and once done restart the program and try again to open the flash files.
Can you please show me an example of where it appears the empty space between rows?
Please keep me updated.

Hi Claudio
Ok so I reinstalled flash player from your link and this sorted out the flash animation in the header but I still have the problem with video files (wmv) not playing in the body of the site, I get a message 'couldnt load plugin, install media player plugin'
FYI both flash and wmv files played in version 9 but not version 10 when I had both versions installed.
The problem with rows not adjusting and leaving empty space seems to have been resoved after upgrading to the latest version of software
Hi Steve,
No doubt Claudio will be along shortly to answer your question in person, but I can perhaps shed some light on some issues in the meantime.
There was a change in the preview engine between v9 and v10. v9 used Internet Explorer whereas v10 uses Chromium (scaled down version of Google Chrome) - for this reason you need to ensure you have the necessary plugins installed in both the internal Chromium browser, as well as your main browser, to enable you to view videos correctly in both preview mode as well as online.
.wmv files are not rendered using Flash but rather using Windows Media components, therefore you will require an additional plugin before you can view .wmv files in the preview. You can get it here:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95697?hl=en
Be sure to install the plugin from within the preview browser itself (i.e. within X5), as well as within Google Chrome if you use that to browse the web online.
Hope that clarifies a little?
Hello Steve,
The explanation that Paul gave is correct and if you install the Windows Media Player plugin from the link Paul wrote, it will work. In any case I would suggest you to use a different format that wmv since they need a plugin to work and on Internet Explorer 10 Microsoft decided to not support them anymore. If you use an format like mp4, which is optimized for the streaming, the videos will work on all browser and also on mobile devices, since this format is supported by the most browsers with HTML5 functionalities, without the need of an external plugin.
Many thanks!
