In my Gallery I have lots of photos under different events (its a schools website) and since uploading more pictures last night I am unable to use the left and right arrows to move to the next picture, the curser just spins in a circle, can you help please?

I have never encounted this problem before.  I have resized pics to small jpgs

Is their a limit on number of photos in each section.

My website address ishttp://st-pauls-swanley.kent.sch.uk/gallery/

Thank you

Hi Donna,

I've just visited your site (thanks for the link).  Your gallery page is loading OK for me, however there is a delay of a few seconds (during which time the cursor spins) before I can navigate the pictures.  I am on a pretty fast broadband connection too, so I suspect what you are seeing here is basically just the symptoms of a slow loading page.

The solution is relatively simple...  split your single 'Gallery' page into several...  'Gallery 1', 'Gallery 2', 'Gallery 3', etc.

Theoretically there is no 'limit' to many things in web-design, including the number of images on a page, but bear in mind that all these images have to be referenced (and ultimately loaded) by the browser, so there is a happy medium.

I honestly don't feel anything is wrong with your X5 site, but it would be prudent to split the galleries to speed page load times.  This in turn will actually boost your search engine ranking, as a nice bonus!

Kind regards,

Paul

PS: I meant to say there is a really handy free tool available online at http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ which can help diagnose page loading issues  Smile
