Digital downloads
Autor: Louis C.Greetings,
How soon before you think that affording the user of V10 the opportunity to sell digital epub downloads? I would have thought that with the recently released version that this feature would have been added. The Epublication industry is huge and growing!
If I understand Claudio's explaination...posted on 06/14/2013 that this explaination is a work around that has been proven to work and there are no problems with it deliverying the digital download to a custom. I realize of course that it seems to require my attention to a sale and then I must send another email to the purchaser directing them to a password protected portion of my site that will allow them to effect their download. Is this basically correct.
After months of trying several diffent web site generator I found yours this morning and I was so excited by the functionality of your product as it seems to address all the issues or requirements that I need.....save for the digital delivery of my epubs! Mind you at 65yrs old it takes quite abit for me to get excited...nonetheless I still am and would make the purchase for V10 today if you could please address my question and statisfy me that I can use your program and based on Claudio's response above to Ethan on the form...that I can use your excellant software and use the work around to deliver my digital products.
Being new (as in minutes) to this form and your help section I hope that you would send me an email response, although, I will leave this window open looking for your response as I'm keen to get started with the production of my web presence.
Thanking you in advance for you professional attention to this question. All my very best Regards to you and the entire staff there,
Louis

Hello Louis,
With this workaround it will be possible to sell also digital downloads like ebooks because you would provide to the customer, after you verified the payment, the link to access to the pivate section, or if you prefer, you can send them directly the link to download the epub file.
Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

Good Morning Claudio,
I just tried to send you a response to this answer and I appreciate you affirmation that indeed I can accomplish delivery of digital goods (ebooks) using the method, for now, that is above in this string to Ethan.
I would hope that the addition of providing ebook delivery from the storefront would be a valid/profitable update for the next invsioned version!
Since I'm not sure that what I initially wrote this morning will get to you I will repeat some of it now. I was not at the time logged in and so I believe it got 'lost' :-(
Here's a shortened version. Since your software provides 'Responsive Design' built in ie; the site is being built in HTML5/CSS3...the site when 'called by it's URL' by someone that wants to view it will render perfectly or close to the orgininal formatting that I built it in, on any computer (Windows/IOS MAC), any tablet (iPad/Android), any phone (iPhone/Android). Now when I build an epub in InDesign CS5.5 the outcome is the same, however, because the 'epub' format is not at this time 'universal' I have to some degree 'rebuild' it for Nook & Kindle. My point is that if I simply use your software to create an epublication (doesn't really matter what we call it it...it is still an accumulation of electronicly delivered files) the outcome would be the same. I couldn't offer it through iTunes, which I don't care to do anyway...the reason is to sell on iTunes it must be in 'epub format'. To expand the thought....when building a web page it consists of navigation, screens that contain text, photos, videos, MP3 audio files, graphics, charts, 3D images, etc. An epublication contains the same items and is delivered in the same fashion ie; someone 'finds' it ie; comes, in this case, to my website and purchases it to download to their device(s) and all is well. In an electronic Publication aka epub the website navigation becomes know as the TOC (table of contents) but funtions the same as a website...it takes you to another location within the overall web offering, an epub/ebook in this case.
I hope that you understand what I'm saying. InDesign is still somewhat imperfect in it's formating..you have to 'tweak' the original layout for the pad & the phone as ...at the cost of $700! I would like to be able to simply build it in your software, locate it in a locked non-viewable screen, direct a client to the appropriet URL of THAT PARTICULAR epub that they purchased and be done (for now until hopefully you add the feature of digital delivery to the store front)! Please let me know if your techy's think that this is worth a try...time is money but I'm retired at 65 yrs old and this is much of what I do..creating epubications. I will be creating approximatelly 150 epublications pertaining to Hebrew Schalorship so this is what I will be working on for the balance of my earthly exsistance..G-D Willing!
One last question. I seem to remember from my investigation of your software yesterday that it offers the capacity for a 'modal' pop up window. Is is coded such that instead of a video/photo that I can instead have text in the pop up & if I desire to add more text that the window would seem to hold when it first makes an appearance on the screen..will it recognize and 'grow' in verticle length and provide a 'scroll bar'? I hope this can happen!
Ok..very sorry for taking up your time with this. I very much appreciate your software as I downloaded the trial yesterday and enjoyed it very much. I will make my purchase within the hour for v10. I'm sure that I will thoughlly enjoy using it.
Very Best Regards to everyone there,
Louis

Claudio,
Maybe it's because I'm from the United States, or I just don't know how to find a way to get intouch with you short of a very long distance call. Yesterday after using the demo (limited useability) I was really excited. Of course I had not tried to import an image into a page layout because you can't do that in the Demo version nor an image because the Demo won't allow you to do that either.
Today I puchased the V10 and the Design collection. Started to build the site, tried for over an hour to get an image that I had previously used with another software so I know that it's capable of being inserted into a web page....this software would not accept it! Over an Hour. So I decided to start the page with text instead of an image. SAME THING. This was a simple cut/past operation!
I'm very disheartened right now. You know I purchased Xara Web Designer Premuim 9 and it wouldn't work either (still after one week trying to get my $89 back for that..and I had run the demo on my machine for two days of limited ability with the demo and everything seemed fine. It wasn't! So now I have this and to shut the software down after trying to input an image & text it 'hung up' for 20 mins saving what I had done and the 95% progress bar stayed at 95% for 20 mins. I finally force shut it down.
Maybe this is the problem...my machine. I'm working on a MacBook Pro with windows loaded through BootCamp which every Mac ships with. I have used Paralells as well and it was awful. Anyway, I have Windows 7 Pro running through Bootcamp and I have Adobe Master Suite CS5.5 running on there and Microsoft Office 2013 without any problems.
This is making me 'crazy' as I was REALLY looking forward to using your software. I'm very disappointed and perhaps it's the confiuration of my machine. I'm sure it must be because this is the second software (Xara & yours) that won't run correctly on the Windows side of the Mac. I don't know.
I tried it with the Demo yesterday and with the limited ability of the demo it seemed fine. But with the full version not good at all. I would like...well not really... but given the circumstances I would like an immediate refund. I know it takes a few working days to get back into my account but what I'm asking is in lieu of what I have experienced and with your 30 money back guaranttee I would like to receive and email from you saying that your have initiated the refund process for the software $84.99 and the $9.95 for the Design Collection. I will deeply appreciate it. I REALLY wish that this was not happening. Now I have to either use Dreamweaver that I have which is like going to University for 2 years or I have to find something good that will run on Mac. Not going to try getting something else for Window. And that after spending about $300 to get Windows setup on this machine.
I appreciate your understanding and look forward to hearing from you that this has been done. Here's my Order #'s For the software Your cleverbridge reference number: 46509474 and for the Design collection Your cleverbridge reference number: 46512300
The underliners hung up now..crazy.
Thanks for your help Claudio. Didn't find anywhere else on the site to request the refund ??!!
my regular email is *** You have that I think. I suspect I will be notified by Cleverbridge of the Refund anyway!
All the best,
Louis
Hello Louis,
For the refund you need to contact directly cleverbridge at *** and they will proceed to refund you the money. You have 30 days money back guarantee and if you want we can try to see why the program is not working correctly.
Can you please tell me what ype of image you were adding and what happend to the program?
What Version of the program are you running?
It seems that the program has not been installed correctly, probably. In this case it would be worth to try to uninstall all versions of the program and then delete the installation folders of these in Program Files and the Incomedia folder in C:/USers/ your username /AppData/Local
Once done you can reinstall the program and update it to see if this helps.
Please keep me updated.
