Hello there!
I would like to know if l can design a blog with Website x5 Evolution 9? I have a website already online (www.antoniogalvan.ch), and l would like to create a blog for it. l know how to do so, how to include the blog on the main menu, how to create new entries, etc. But l do not know how to 'customize' the blog appearance (if it's possible at all), like changing the layout in genereal. If this is not possible, is there anything l can do?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Antonio,
If you go to Step 4 Advanced Settings - Blog, then click on the 'Layout' tab, you will find several possibilities for customising the blog appearance.
In particular, if you select any one of the 'Side Blocks' from the list, then you can alter their appearance considerably by clicking the 'Edit' button on the right, then moving to the 'Style' tab.
Hope this helps...
Kind regards,
Paul

Hello Paul,
Wow, what a quick answer! l am amazed! l took for granted l would only get an ansewr (if lucky) in a few days... Thank you!
Yes, l know all those features you comment on your message... l was wondering if l could have more control over the site appearance, more or less the way you do with the 'normal' web pages... l guess not.
l have checked the new version (Evo 10). Do you think the -apparently- new features introduced will give me what l need?
Thanks a lot again :-)
Antonio
You are welcome Antonio, it's my pleasure...
Unfortunately the level of customisation that you are looking for is not present in either version 9 or version 10. The main enhancement in V10 as far as styling is concerned lies in greater control over the graphic appearance of the blog... you can now set the colour of both the Blog 'background' and 'page content'... you can set these independently of each other, and associate an optional image with both as well.
You can also set a unique icon for the Blog in the Menu, and you can style the Blog in such a way that it does not inherit the properties of the project template, thus setting it apart in visual appearance from the rest of the site.
As regards the Main Menu obscuring your blog title/description and side blocks, this may be due to a template setting. Are you using a custom template? If so, then check the value of the 'Top Inner Margin' and 'Bottom Inner Margin', which are found in Step 1 General Settings - Template Selection - Custom Template... select 'Menu' from the 'Page section' drop-down, then reduce the numerical value in both 'Inner Margin' boxes as necessary until the menu no longer obscures your blog text.
Let us know how you get on!
Kind regards,
Paul
Version 10 is a lot better as far as the blog is concerned. I did find an issue where if I put a facebook button on using the settings, it did not display when updated, but removing the buttons fixed it again.
Otherwise, I am very pleased with Version 10 and look forward to improving my site again over the next few months. Antonio, if you upgrade make sure you are aware that you will lose Version 9 functionality after a short period. I bought the full version to avaiod that problem and can still use both my previous versions (needed because my site was made in version 8 and had to be updated to 9 before I could import it into 10!)

Hello there!
Paul, thanks a lot for your information and honest feedback (l would've expected someone related to Incomedia trying to 'sell me' the new version). I was already happy with the program, now l am happier due to the support service that's great. Have a good day!
Hello Wayne, thanks a lot for your message! lt will definitely help me to decide whether to upgrade to Evo 10 or not (and in the case l do l will make sure l go for the 'full version'). Thank you!
Best wishes,
Antonio
