I designed, and maintain on a daily basis 7 websites that I created with V10.
Problem and bug free, but ofcourse I would like additional features.
However, after reading too many reports of nasty bugs in V11, I will not be upgrading at this stage.
The sad part is that the 55% discount expiries today.
I would have thought that Incomedia would take the loyalty of long standing clients into account, and reserve this discount for these clients, to use as and when they wish to do so.
Having used X5 since 2005, it now seems that I have no alternative but to look at other options.

Hello Gerrit,
I understand what you're saying.
I'm not trying to comment in place of Incomedia themselves but I just wanted to point out that they have an excellent track record of finding and rectifying bugs on new software editions. Personally, I feel confident that all v11 issues will be resolved sooner rather than later.
It's also vital to keep any discussion about the bugs in perspective. On forums such as this most of the postings tend to be about user problems as opposed to user praise. Such is human nature! And, though we would all prefer otherwise, there are bugs in all softwares... this is part and parcel of software development. But many users will not experience any of these bugs at all.
I was a little scared to move from version 9 to 10 myself on account of the 'horror stories' I had read about bugs. As it happened the process proved smooth and error free, and I have found v10 to be extremely stable. I am sure v11 will be tuned and tweaked until it is the same, only even better!
Remember that WebSite X5 purchases carry a 30-day "Happy or your money back" guarantee You could still benefit from the introductory offer without risk.
I wish you all the best in your web design.
Kind regards,
Paul
I have been using v11 for a few days now, cant say I have found any nasty bugs yet, not that I have tried everything, I actually think v11 is quite slick and I am very happy with it , not everyone encounters bugs and like Paul says the genuine bugs will be fixed.

Thanks for the positive feedback Paul - Chris....I am just not convinced that V11, has sufficient new features to justify an upgrade ?
Your thoughts?
Gerrit
There has been quite a lot of discussion on the forum as regards v11 new features. My own opinion is that v11 introduces a considerable number of them: however, I think some folks perceive the features as 'minor' rather than the more major facilities which came with version 10.
For me at least, the changes are welcome, useful and genuinely helpful. But I want to make another point. There is more to a software update than simply adding new features. I challenge anyone to work solidly with v11 for a week, then go back and open one of their v10 projects. I think many would then miss working with v11.
To me v11 has been overhauled in a way which makes it slicker... yes, I know that's exactly the same word that Chris used, but I can't find any better to describe it.
I particularly like the repositioning of the Back/Next/OK/Cancel buttons... In my work with X5 I spend large amounts of time adding code manually in the HEAD, BODY sections, etc. Having at first taken some time to get used to the layout change (and actually almost resisting it) I now find editing operations much faster and smoother. In fact, I give the new User Interface a special thumbs up!
Sometimes even the smallest tweaks and tune-ups can have a significant impact on productivity.
I love version 11. I'm grateful to the Incomedia team for their continued development of a web design software unlike any other. Yes, I know you cannot please all the people all the time, and there is a huge wish list of requested features which continues to grow. However, I do believe that the developers do a good job. And I remain confident that all bugs will be fixed, and that v11 will prove to be as stable as I have found v10 to be.
Actually the more I use v11 the more new features and enhancements I find.
With the generous upgrade discount I reckon it was money well spent.
oops! I entered the wrong emoticon, it should be.
As if by magic, the emoticon is now as you intended, Chris...
