Rather strangely i am having a periodic problem on a number of my projects, as is a colleague of mine having the same type of problem on his projects.

We both have Version 8, Version 9 (i have Version 10) and we also both have Version 11.

Our Projects have been imported from previous Versions - specifically he has 9 to 11, and I have 10 to 11.

I am running Windows 8.1 and my machine is fully up to date running ESET ESS SECURITY, and he runs Windows 7 with all Service Packs

The issue is sporadic, and does not appear to happen all the time, and is hard to replicate as some times it happens and others not.

When i open a project and in the Map Creation, i choose a Page to alter.

When i open the page creation box, if you look in the top left this is the text object i wish to amend, and note in the preview box - you can see the current text.

But when i then open the text box, the text has completly disappeared as below:

Now if i press the Green Tick to Accept, what then happens is that it accepts the TEXT Object (and then if i preview, the page shows NO text - as i have accepted it) - if i press the Green X, as to not accept it - then either change page and go back to this page, low and behold :

The text re-appears, ticking the Green TICK, and it accepts any changes and these are shown in the preview.

So this is quite a major irritation and is desperate for a fix.

Where the biggest issue can arise, is that if you open the Object Text box and then press the GREEN tick to accept (the empty box) and then carry on - you end up uploading your site with a complete missing text object  - you then have to find an old page and add the text back in, indeed if you paste text into the empty box above you are wasting time, as all you need do is close (not accepting it).

However this is not acceptable and a fix needs to be found

Searching Website answers i have found similar but not exact errors that relate to the issues above, and in most cases they are in German and the responses confirm my comments above - but do not give an actual and satisfactory answer - indeed one of the answers is marked as private.

I have had to spend all day on one page (big pics on BBH site) because it just will not show the big pictures on this page (they are within the text box) and the text without losing the pictures most of the time.

 So I had to divide the big pics single text box on that page into half a dozen text boxes each of five pics, so I did not keep losing pics as it takes turns deciding which pics to show and which not and sometimes shows all of them but very rarely. It seems the more pics you have within the text box or the more text boxes the less it shows them in their entirety – just blank spaces where the pics should be.

 So by making it five pics a page I thought I would have solved the problem but in some cases I am opening up a text bods 10 times before it opens up showing everything that is in it

Possible results and fixes, that are not necessarily the same but useful – these are the initial findings on subjects that could be causing a problem – not necessarily the correct answers as I cannot try them.

The comments in bold relate to questions taken directly from the support pages Website X5 WITH ITEM 6 being the nearest to the actual issues being had.

1. Ensure 100% you are running the latest Version of 11 – try and update it.

If running previous versions – try uninstalling the previous versions (if you need them, save your system version) then uninstall, then if you need you can restore your system to prior to the uninstallation.

1. Check the Net Framework _Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and then click on OK. 
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.5 and then click ok.
Check also if there is a firewall or antivirus setting which could block the preview or its port. Try to go to the preferences and change the preview port to another number and then test it again to see if it works.

1. Try to remove all blank object in the project and check no other program is running in background and then try again.
It could also be a file you added in the project is corrupted and blocks the saving procedure.
Try to remove the bigger files you add the check if this helps.

1. It does seem that no-one has the same issue as you are having apart from the nearest being I updated my project to version 11 like you described. When i now maka a change in the text, on most sites it does not appear in the preview and also not when in the published files. The answer given is Please check whether imported formats are there in the text or the text color is the same as the background color.
Take a picture of the text object and the preview (ev. Also with second browser) and or give the link to the website page familiar with the error.Essentially I may have to do some screen prints and then add them to my query. (Actually see item 6 below)

I just upgraded to V11 pro, imported one of my projects and started editing, it has been a lot of trouble working with this new version, feels like an unfinished product, sorry I don't want to offend any body just posting my experience, I think wX5 is a great product however, some things need to be fixed to be used as it was intended to be.
FIRST: The images and content disappears, I'm working on a text object with tabbed content, there are 6 tabs, with image and text. Well, I have lost already 3 finished tabs because the content simply disappeared, NOTE: it didn't occur all at once.
SECOND: Another problem is that the styling I make to the text, size and color is not applied to the preview neither to the exported file, but in the software I see the text with the styling changes I made. It doesn't happen in all tabs, and when I finally fix one tab then another loss the style or deletes the content, I have tried creating a new page and the problem persists.
I can't finish updating one single page because of this problem.
If you suggest to start a new site from scratch, that's not an option, it' will take me a lot of time because I have made so many changes and my project has many pages, I have already spent many time creating this website.
Incomedia, should I go back to V10? Can you please check if the same happens on a new project and if it happens also the steps you do so we can identify the source of the issue to fix it?
It would be useful to know the exact procedure so it can be identified what causes this loss and fix it.This has been already reported to the developers. About the other issue, unfortunately I still could not reproduce it.
If you find a way it happens and can inform me I will pass this information to the developers so they can verify it and in case fix it.

1. The text editor forgets / deletes the entire contents once you get it closes and opens again ! This happens when I copy a longer text into it, no matter if I copy it from Word or from a text file after the next time you open the text is gone .Now the super curious , the error only occurs sporadically ! Use WebSite X5 Evolution 11 in the latest version .

Ideally this 've also found some weeks ago and reported here and have been only ridiculed. Ok been partially mocked . I have certainly , I think found that when I open the preview and do not rule , and then in the text object only slightly change or sometimes nothing at all change but close my page , the text is gone. So whenever I have added a text in the text object or amended text I press save and then the preview . After I'm keeping this order of the text does not disappear . Something different if it is already in a V10 erstelte page in the text object has a link in the text or image. As it happens , the text objects at once is empty, but filled Textobjeklt looks on the page. After closing the page and reopening sees the text object then also empty. Now if you open this text object and describes again , which has no existence . The next time you open the page it is empty again. So delete and a new text object to the same place , then go. Save to definitely After creating the text first and then the preview . Also necessarily close preview and then edit texts. I hope it helps. For me it is so.

7.      I work daily with Website X5 . Since a few days with the version 11th I have just a text field that included text smaller. Then click the Preview ... result of the text is gone. The text was already in this field . He was not copied from Word . What now ??? This was not the first time . It can not be that I will always have to rewrite texts.

ch can add: This malfunction happens again ! So , a text (written with keyboard not copied from Word ) in the text box (stored and see in the preview) and one shrinks the text box (no matter how much) , the text is deleted. There urgently need an update.

Thx noticed that it is only with texts in imported projects of 11:10 as the texts disappear created with V 11 in new projects is everything as it should be
