Shipping choice mandatory

I have a choice shipping types and sometimes the "Customer" forgets to choose one / any.
Is it possible to make shipping mandatory like the payment option ( a message tells you to pick a payment option).

have you tied it before? because by default if you add shipings to your shopping cart, it is mandatory they have to choose,
