How do I publish to a subdomain?

I have set up a subdomain within my main domain. Do I have to have a separate project to publish to it? Or can I use the project where my main domain is?

when you create a subdomain, your webserver automatically creates a folder for it, go to your host and look for that folder, what ever the folder name is, put that name on the destination folder field when you are going to upload your website.
or
create another ftp address which points directly to your subdomain folder and use that ftp address and leave the destination folder field empty during the upload process.

yes. unless you want to have the same project in domain and subdomain which does not make sense
