WebSite X5 support fails in asnwer a very important question
Autore: Hengel A.Dear support team,
I have asked in a previous post a very simple yet fundamental question regarding the fact that as soon as I apply the FB box in the page of any article of mine, it fails in capturing the image I wish to be used as a preview: most of the time there will be no image at all!
Few days ago I have asked for support and I have been answered that nothing can be done and I should procede by myself.
Well, this is a very funny way to answer since you should be the experts and not me. To not to speak of the disposal atitude that this asnwer of yours was filled in: quite irritating, indeed!
The hilarious thing is that my post has been considered solved by the Italian team itself!
Are you kidding, dudes?
Is this the real way you offer support to your customers?
If it is so, then everybody should know, shouldn't they?
By the way, the unfair asnwer I am referring to, was given me by the support in Italian language.
I am trying again to see wheather the english support is better.
In case I will receive another idiotic answer like the previous one, I am going to post that answer plus yours one on my FB page full of friends and follower whatsoever.
I will not take another "go to hell" type of answer anymore. That's for sure!
So let's see if you people are more polite and usefull than the this italian guy named Riccardo P. This very guy should be removed from the support team.
Thank you!
Quote from Mr. Riccardo P.

Damn,
just becaus I have used the word "idiot", you people reported my comment as an abusive one?
Abusive is the way I have been asnwered!
I dont even thing is legal to leave customers with that kind of...blip...(or else I will be banned as heretic once more)...
Abusive is when I get the post SOLVED by the support team when it ois NOT SOLVED AT ALL!
Abusive is when the moderetaor HIMSELF put the nabnner LIKE and SUCCESFUL to his own answer whereas is ME THE CUSTOMER who have to decide whether thge rep'ly is a correct one or not!
Abusive is to receive a "MANAGE YOURSELF " kind of answers
Abusive is when I get marked as an abuser just because I have used the word "idiot" addressing the received "manage yourself" asnwers.
Guys, whatetevr answer your reply to me, I'm gonna put on FB so carefull when you address a content as abusive when it is not!
You are not giving me real support, this is not only abusive, it's ILLEGAL!
Hello Hengel,
The question you made is about a function which depends solely on the system used by facebook and this can only correctly answered by the support of facebook itself.
The support of the program is for the program only and cannot help you regarding matters on how the facebook system works and which algorythms they use. The support or the other users can share their knowledge but if you want a precise answer about this argument I would suggest you to ask the source which is in this case the support of facebook.
The solution given by my collegue was to use an image in your page or to hide it since facebook uses the first image found and uses it as preview for the shared articles but to have more precise answer you can contact directly the support of facebook where they will be able to help you further since the service is offered by them.
Many thanks!

Dear support staff,
the post is not solveds at all.
If I dont receive a proper support, I will proceed via my personal lawyers
Hello Hengel,
We apologise for the misunderstanding, we do not want you to feel as if we do not care for what you have asked us. Our mission is to help our customers but unfortunately, we are not entitled to give technical assistance on functions that do not depend WebSiteX5 .
As mentioned by my collegue Samantha, if you mark an answer as ''correct'' your post is automatically closed but, if you wish to open it again, you can still uncheck it and continue the conversation.
Generally our Staff and Moderators never set a post as correct or closed. This can happen only on extraordinary cases.
Let me add all the information I can regarding your initial question: Facebook uses a custom protocol to identify the image which needs to appear.
If this protocol is not found in the page source code, it automatically uses the first image on the page.
At the moment WebSite X5 does not use this protocol therefore it needs to be added manually in each page.
The one you were asking for is the og:image tag. you can find further information about it in the following pages:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/checklist or http://ogp.me/
If you would like to add this protocol in your page, you can do this in Step 2 by selecting the page you want to add it in and then opening the ''properties'' section. Now please open the ''expert'' tab and then select the "before closing the </head> tag" option and add the og:image code. You will have to add a link to the image you have chosen.
I hope this helps!
Many thanks!
