Do you have a backup, this is probably the easyest, if you can't find the template in any option in the template selection (step1).

If you have an older template then it's goed to create it in a new version as custom template so you can always fall back on that.

Else try this backup option it also works for v12.

Make first a copy of your project in step5. Then get an older copy with your template.

open it then save it in custom library.

open your saved project (latest) then add the template from custom liibrary.

OK, now I have a copy that apperas it will have my template from the icon in the open project window. But I cannot open it.

It says it cannnot find library.xml

I have about a dozen versions going back to 2012 but cannot get any to open without the error "cannnot find library.xml"

What can I do?

Maybe You simply should try to uninstall and then install the X5 Evolution 12 again.

Are you trying ot open the older versions of the project made with a different version than Version 12?

If yes these projects cannot be opened directly but must be imported as IWZIP file otherwise it won't find the necessary files.
