Upload website to internet
Autore: Hans B.Website X5 Support,
My former web hotel provider has merged with another one, and I have been moved to a new platform.
On the new platform I have a problem, when I upload my website to my web hotel. I get an error message saying “The selected server or destination folder do not match website URL set in General Settings. Do you want to see it now? <Ja>, <Nej> and <Annuller> (yes, no and cancel).
If I answer yes, the program jumps to the folder General Settings, and an information box with the text “This is a mandatory field” is shown at the line “Website Address (URL)”.
If I answer no, the program starts updating my website.
It seems that the error message unnecessary.
I attach a file with screen dumps of the pages.
I have asked the web hotel provider to solve the problem, but they have not succeeded so, now I ask for your help.
Kind regards,
Hans Bruun-Jensen
hello Hans,
you should contact your hosting to know exactly the destination folder of your web space .. or check their e-mail after you have registered your domain and sated. You have written to you via email, the exact destination of all data FTP.
you've tried to upload your files to the public_html directors? without entering anything else? or without mh. only bruumjersen.eu after /
I would try;-)
/pubblic_html
ops sorry!
/public_html , this is the rightfolder
Hello Hans,
This message is meant for hosting provider with a standard setting where the default folder is the one where you upload it and this message informs you in case you are uploading on another folder, which will cause issues on the functions of the website.
Since on your hosting the settings are different you can click NO and export the website without having to take this message in consideration since the website will work correctly.
Many thanks!
