How to modify templates
Autore: René MilanHi, first i have to say that while having been an IT professional for 35 years, i am a complete beginner with X5, which is advertised as being easy to use. And it may well be if one is lucky enough to find a template that pretty much matches requirements. But mine are quite unique, so i start from the most simple template (Blank 1), hoping to build it up. However i can get access from within Z5 only to the centre part of the pages, but neither to header nor footer. That means that i can not change the look of those sections (i did manage to change the menu text by renaming the pages). I assume the corresponding files are transparent, or at least not obvious, and have been installed when i "bought" this template. How can i access the code to change this ?
Hi Rene, I too am new to X5 but finding it a great program so far. It does take a bit of jump in and see and templates are great for doing that. on your issue if you go to step 3 Template, Template Structure and template content here you will find how to change the header and footer content. hope this helps.
Hello Rene
You go here :
Then You will have tabs for header, Foter and sidebar ( if you use sidebar )
Kind regards
John S.
It is step 2 in ver. 14.

I shall try. Many thanks for all your help !
As John correctly points out it is step 2 and not step 3 as I suggested can only put it down to a senior moment lol.
