Hi Incomedia,
With the release of version 15.0.1, has the "bugs" in version 14 been rectified, or have they been carried on
into version 15.0.1 and if so when can we expect to see them rectified, in both versions 14 and now 15 ?
Regards,
Jim

Im using 15 right now. Never used 14. What bug are you talking about?
Hey Jim, Incomedia,
I have already notified Incomedia about that (below in French)
Sauf erreur de ma part, mais la V15 ne corrige aucune bug que j'ai signalé dans la V14:
Donc la V15 continue avec beacioup de bugs de la V14 ...
et V15 signifie généralement une release MAJEURE.... Humm
Cordialement
Hi,
I do the same as Axel
v15 = v14 = same problems not solved!
Why to publish this version ?
And my 3 posts for that were put in private also nobody can see them, thanks to incomédia for their honesty!
Regards
I looked exactly at the new features of version 15 and i find out that many suggestions and requests were not implemented from the forum.
Franck, generally Incomedia only mark posts as private if they feel that your post may inadvertantly display information you do not (should not?) want made public.
If you want all and sundry to read it, I believe you can go to the first post and change it to public.
Jim, I am aware of at least one issue that I wish had been fixed but has not, but I am equally aware of a number of outstanding issues that have now been dealt with, plus some new features that may help many (eg advertising).
Looks like the ver.15 has been released (with minor or no changes) just to shut users that complain about "Update Protection". Ver.15 is supposed to show that you will get it for free if you pay for the "protection".
This way we WILL (possibly) have to wait more than the year (the duration of the "protection") for REAL update.
What makes me laugh is the change of the header on "Sitemap Creation" page. It was even mentioned in the change log:
.
Here is the change:
Oh, well... What can you do?

Hi Esahc,
Thank you for your prompt reply, there is still an issue with the Meteo weather map see:
https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/it/post/186211
Also with the new Login/Logout object if the user enters the wrong password, the Login box reverts back to the "old" style login box which is totaly confusing for the user.
In addition why are Incomedia continuing to enforce an email address format for the user name, the users do not want an enforced format, it should be "free" text. Please Incomedia, listen to your users.
Yes, I do really like the new advertising page format, it is impressive.
Once again, Esahc many thanks and keep up the good work.
Jim
Hi I have the professional vision of website x5 and just installed v15 and was wondering how to add the 404 error Page it says you need .htacces code what is that
. . . did not find this (or other)
http://www.htaccess-guide.com/
Hi Glen,
The .htaccess-file is a hidden file in the root of your website (mostly /httpdocs). With this file you can give your webserver instructions for modifications to requests, for example:
ErrorDocument 404 error-404.html
to redirect the webserver to your own page in the website if a page isn't found on the server, otherwise a rather ugly default page will be displayed.
ErrorDocument 410 error-410.html
to redirect the webserver to your own page if a page which was indexed by Google doesn't exist anymore
redirect 410 /thispageisremoved.html
to tell Google the page doesn't exist anymore and should be removed from the Google Index.
But also more advanced stuf, like:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]
To 'force' the request to use a secure connection (only if your hosting provider supports this.
The index.html is a rather important file, so it payes to do some research on it. You also need a text editor (notepad will be sufficient) and an FTP-program like FileZilla.
Have fun!
Robert
Good to know I'm not the only one realizing about this, the update is sooo not "power" and the mods and devs are constantly kicking bugs under the rug...
the customer wants to upload pictures and information from the control panel. Do you have a control panel for this?
Ali, can I please recommend you start a new post with this question, I am afraid your question will be lost in this particular conversation.
For what it's worth, I too have a customer (or 2) wishing to post photos, text, comments and links onto their website. I simply embedded blogger using their gmail account, they update anytime through any device.
There are numerous irritating bugs in the latest version of X5 that persist and have been around for several years now. Incomedia simply chooses NOT to fix them.
l’m not sure why. Possibly a general lack of resources within the company.
Hi everybody,
I thank you for your feedback.
Certainly you're right, not all the issues reported have already been solved in version 15. Those that have been resolved are available here: https://www.websitex5.com/changelog/v15
Unfortunately, for some problems it takes a little more time to make a solution available to you, but the developers are working on it and the fixes will be published in the next updates.
Thank you for your patience. Cordially.
Elisa from incomédia say in an other post
"
Cordialement."
In fact you apply the same answer to everybody wait for next update !
but what update ? in v 15.0.2 or in v20 in october 2022 ?
It is no longer patience that we need, it is self-denial and I start to miss it cruelly!
