Hi,
Just updated to V15 Pro from V14 Pro and in the past it was creating a folder under profile\Documents\WebSite X5 v14 - Professional
So I have previous version such \documents\WebSite X5 v10 - evolution and so on with previous version
And now it as only created \Documents\WebSite X5 - Professional ???
Can I rename this folder for "WebSite X5 v15 - Professional" would be much better as I do have other projects in previous version
Thanks
Pierre

Hi Blouin.
You might be able to change the name of this directly ONLY if you're installing it for the first time on the pc. Failing to do so and doing it later might cause issues in the way your software stores and handles its current projects.
I will now explain the reason for this change. With this version, Incomedia is trying to improve the way projects are handled from one version to a new one. The lack on number in the folder's name shows this. We're trying to make it possible to switch software version without having to reimport projects from an older one, and this is the first step into achieving this. Considering a generic folder for all future projects.
Should you be in need of any more clarifications, please let me know on this topic.
Thank you
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately i was not able to rename / create My Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v15 - Professional
Since it will still refer to \My Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Professional
It would of been easier for me since I have multiple project which are still with the previous version such as V10
But I do understand the reason and idea behind this which make sence.
Regards
Pierre
Blouin, I too prefer the old naming convention so I created the folder I wanted in Windows Explorer
Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v15 - Professional\
Then I started WX5 and in preferences browsed to my choice.
It works fine. I even moved a project folder to the new location so that I could continue working on a project I had started earlier.
I do not know why Incomedia have changed the naming convention - perhaps in future new version will simply upgrade projects rather than requiring export then import. If this is to be the case it makes sense to have a single generic folder for all future versions. I guess we will see.
