I keep getting the An Error Occurred message.
I have tried reinstalling X5 V15 but that has NOT corrected the situation.
I have tried reloading older Save files but the message still appears.
I am using Windows 10 and have been for a long time and I have been using
X5 V10 since it was released and everything has been working fine until today.
All of this is on the same HP laptop I have been using for the past two years.

Hi Michael,
thank you for contacting us.
Are you receiving this error message on WebSite X5 15 or 10? When does it exactly appear?
Please post a screenshot of the error message, so we will be able to help you further.

I am using Website X5 Version 15.
I have attached two pdf of the error:
1. Error - when trying to open a file
2. Importing - when trying to Import a previously save file.
A. in the Importing you can see it is running but the file never loads.
B. I have tried several file which had been previously save and have not gotten them to load.
It appears I can only attach one file to this discussion, I will send another reesponse with the
Import attachment.

Hi Michael.
The path denied error most probably refers to the fact that either an antivirus or firewall is blocking access to the folder where the projects are located to the software, or windows set some kind of permission on the same folder which is not allowing the software to work correctly.
What if you create a new project? Does it happen there too?
Please check what I reported and let me know
Stefano

STEFANO,
Thanks for your asistance.
1. I had been using X5 eVOLUTION 15 (15.1.1 64 bit)
2. I upgraded today to 15.2.2 64bit
3. I tried to start a new project and got the message attached
If, as you say, perhaps permissions/firewall might be causing the problems how would I change them to check out this angle. Again, this software was working fine the day before this happened and no changes were made to the computer. I am using Windows 10 and have been since it was released a long time ago.
Thanks

STEFANO,
Stop everything, its my fault. SORRY!!
I went to the Windows Store up the street from where I live, it seems I turned on a Security feature
I shouldn't have. I am sorry for the work I caused you and Elisa. To Fix:
1. Start / Update and Security
2. Windows Security
3. Virus & Threat Protection
4. Virus & Threat Protection settings
5. Controlled Folder Access
6. Manage Controlled Folder Access
7. Controlled Folder Access OFF
All is well now and the sites have been edited and the world is now back in order. :)
Again, Sorry.
Michael, please mark your own post as the solution on the off-chance it could help others.
