Shopping cart Pay Later feature II
Autore: S C P.I am a relatively new user of Website X5 Evolution. I find the software very sophisticated and versatile. I am getting better at using it.
I am quite comfortable in setting up shopping cart. I am interested in the possibility of using Pay Later feature. I had raised the question previously and a Moderator responded that, "To overcome this issue I only use the Pay Now option, but to clarify the issue to the user." I believe that would work but it makes shopping cart processing less crisp. The user may just go ahead and pay, so it is not a real Pay Later implementation.
I am interested in exploring Pay Later feature further. If the Pay Later feature is used the PayPal Buy Now (or Pay Now) button does NOT appear on the confirmation web page. It is also NOT included in the confirmation email.
That is not a real problem, however. What I am looking for is an added feature of being able to send an Invoice Email that includes the PayPal Pay Now button. The Invoice Email is sent after service is completed (or product is delivered). So there are two emails: A Confirmation Email that is sent as soon as the order is placed and An Invoice Email that is sent after service is completed. The latter email contains the PayPal Pay Now button.
Alternatively if there is a way to construct order specific PayPal Pay Now button then it can be included in an Invoice Email written offline, i.e. written outside of Website X5 software.
Thank you for the opportunity to explore these questions.
Hi S C P.
Apart from the confirmation email, which is sent when the order is received, the user will also receive an email once the order as been payed and dispatched from the /admin section of the website.
As of now, it is not possible to include the button in this latest email, since it would probably not prove beneficial for the shop owner to first deliver the products and then ask for payment.
Also, it is not possible to attach additional emails without making use of custom external code, for which the Staff unfortunately cannot provide support.
I hope I answered your question, but do feel free to get back to me here if I can provide any further clarification
Thank you
Stefano

Thank you for your information.
Since Pay Later feature is an integral part of the Website X5 software it is taken for granted that there are businesses (perhaps not shop owners) that work with Buy Now, Pay Later. So your point that "it would probably not prove beneficial ..." is outside the Website X5 architecture.
There must be a procedure within Website X5 software to collect from customer when Pay Later option is selected. It is not helpful for moderator to say, "don't use Pay Later feature, use Pay Now feature and tell customer to hold off on paying." A senior tech support person at Incomedia would probably have the answer.
The business owner needs to have a way to generate invoice(s) or an order specific Pay Now button for use in invoice(s) that are created offline. It is a high priority issue.
One possibility is to provide a Pay Now (or Buy Now) button in the order notification email that the business owner receives when an order is placed. There is a Payment section in the email. Then business owner can use the button in email invoicing.
I would be interested to know if Website X5 Professional has a more sophisticated way of handling the Pay Later feature. Or, is it about the same as Website X5 Evolution?
My website is up and I am very pleased with the ease of building the website and its appearance as well as operation. I plan to use future versions as your company is very innovative.
Thank you for the opportunity to explore these questions.
Hi S C P.
Your necessity is very clear.
I can confirm though, that as you mentioned in your previous post, it is not possible to use the Pay Later feature while still retaining the Pay Now button in the email.
For this kind of functionality, I would to ask you to open an Idea topic reporting in details the way this should work.
In the meantime, I can suggest this.
If you use the PayNow button with Paypal, you are allowed to change the text presented in the Order Confirmation page, as shown in the screenshot:
At Step 1.
This way, you could try and explain in words, that the payment can be done immediately, or in any case, a later email will be sent with the Pay Now button in it.
Hope I've been helpful, let me know if I can provide further clarification
