I had the same message (unresponsive) but the PDF file is visible after a very very long loading time, and the display of pages is very jerky...

I can definitely see the issue you're mentioning.

It looks like the website is actually loading the PDF. Could it be that it is a very big PDF file? Just wondering, how big in size is it?

Would it be possible for you to temporarily test this with a smaller one and let me know if it at least finishes loading?

So, the first file I tried is 20 Meg - no load in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Chrome eventually crashes.

tried a smaller file: 5 meg - Edge fails, Chrome loads very slow, firefox loads a little slow. But both chrome and firefox, if you zoom in on a page, you cannot zoom back out - you must advance or retard the page display to see back to normal scale. 

When you expand to full display - Firefox displays in a less than full screen view while Chrome does go full screen.

The way the browser presents the PDF is probably related to their own internal engine, which determines how it is views in different sizes.

The size you mentioned for your PDF doesn't seem exaggerately big, but there is an additional test I would like you to perform.

From my latest test on a test hosting, I had no issues in loading a 20 MB PDF like you did.

Would it be possible to test it onto a new, different, free and temporary hosting, just to check if the server's loading speed for files can have something to do with this?

Adrian, I too purchased the Catalogue Viewer, but after using it decided that it is only of value as a novelty or for a catalogue with very large text/images and limited content.

In my case it was purchased to put  electronic magazines online, but sadly most people do not have monitors large enough to make a readable version. I reverted to linking an image of the mag to a pdf. Even 20meg pdf's download quite fast on most internet connections, and the default acrobat reader does a splendid job albeit only a page at a time.

I still use the catalogue viewer to show clients who think it is essential for the catalogue/magazine to be a 2 page spread, but once they see the result they normally opt for the pdf download link. The viewer may be more useful if it offered not only full screen view, but also single page view.

Your server may not be speedy, but I suggest the problem is the viewer (& yes, with patience, your catalogue did eventually display).
