Program crash after adding rows to the grid
Autore: John W.I just encountered the software crashing 5 times this evening. Each occurence was on the same page.
It seems that after some additional rows to the grid, the program did not like the very next function I tried to do.
I have a 3-column format on this page. It had about 6 rows. I am going to need most likely about 14 to 16
rows total. I added text blocks and embedded pictures. I could preview my work, and most was going smoothly.
But when adding about 5 rows and then trying to add a new text block first, crash. I had to use Task Manager to end the program after several minutes of it being locked.
Of course any unsaved data was lost. Next crash, I attempted the same thing.
Third crash was adding the rows, then attempting to go back to the map.
Fourth and fifth crashes occurred after I closed all programs, restarted Website X5, and had hoped to clear
whatever bug it was choking on. That did not matter. I had created one other page this evening with no
conflicts. But something is up with this web page. Is there an added column and row bug?
Windows just did one of its famous cumulative updates this morning, but that went smooth and has not
caused any glitches that I am aware of. Just this adding rows thing is causing the program to choke right
now. Any ideas? Running Windows 10 home and version 19 of the software.
John, I am not aware of and have not experienced crashing in v2019.1.7 when adding rows and columns to a page, but I am aware that WX5 becomes unstable if the created cells are empty, especially on preview and row formats. I have also had instability whilst Windows updates in the background and/or until a restart after update.
Please save before adding/editting objects to each cell and please add an object to every cell (text, html, etc. but there is no need to add content) before going to map, etc
You appear to have been fortunate to only loose the changes to the current page, but in case of more catastrophic failure, please visit step 5, export the project and take the opportunity to incrementally name each iwzip (add date??) regularly.
Let us know if your project stabilises

Thank you, Esahc.
Today I have been creating text and embedded graphic entries on this page and sneaking in adding a row one at
a time after adding some data. I have never noticed this behavior before and have added 10 or 12 rows onto a
new page when I know I will have a lot to say on a paticular page. But on this page, I did add the extra column,
and I added it after adding a few rows. So now that I am adding additional rows, all of which are formatting with
the three columns, it just seems like the page is getting confused. I am not confused, but the program may not
like it so much. Most of my pages are just the two columns, but I wanted three on this page because it looks better
for the PC viewport and wide tablets. I have been saving or previewing the page after adding each block because
I do not like having to remember what I had just typed. So far so good with just a tiny bit of stuttering noticed
when I click Content to add the cell content. I have stopped double clicking the cell in fear it may cause a crash.
And there should be no stuttering with a 3.7Ghz CPU that overclocks to 4.66, and 32GB of RAM. I am barely
placing any strain on this computer. I think it is just the grid itself as it becomes bigger, and a few of the right
hand cells that do stay empty when a line has only 2 entries and not 3. I will concider filling those cells with something.
Thanks,
Autore
Esahc, for your reference, as I work more on this one page today, and I start to fill up the rows and cells,
when clicking on the content icon, the program seems to be responding faster each time as the number of open
cells becomes less. Thank you for the tip.
