B2B VAT regulations and checking
Autore: Steve D.HI, Goods sold B2B to an other country then your own in the EU are not subject to VAT. This is already the rule for years (intra-community regulations). Also B2C outside the EU are not subject to VAT.
I just don't understand why X5 hasn't the capability built in to have an order with or without VAT depending the customer fills in a VAT number that is not your home country or a delivery outside EU. A VAT nr can also easily be checked for it's validity. Yes, you can duplicate the site for B2C and B2B but that is a hasle.
For us, It's one of the major shortcommings of X5 and should be made possible. In these times online business is booming and if you need to maintain multiple sites just for a functionality that is already a rule for years makes one look at other platforms that are easier...
@ Steve
That was the observation of many users years ago...
it seems that Incomedia has developed the shopping cart system for B2C only,,,
