Responsive Settings - Desktop view hide section  en

Hello,

I want to build a responsive website.

The Responsive setting is currently active.

I have a section (Animated Headline) that in the mobile view wasn't shown properly.

So I added a new section (Animated Headline) with smaller font, and it is visible in the mobile view, and the one with bigger font (avaialable for desktop view), it is hidden.

At the desktop view unfortunatly, both sections (bigger and smaller - font) are visible.

I don't know how to hide the smaller section from appearing in the desktop view.

Any help, would be appreciated.

Section 1 is the section with bigger font, that at this moment it is hidden in mobile view.

Section 1 and Section 2 both visible in desktop view.

Reagrds,

Cristi

(It > En) ... a very simple EXTRA code is enough, but if you are interested you have to post the LINK of the online page...

Ionescu, it is a long standing request that incomedia allow hide an object at a resolution but have it visible at others. ie you cannot have an object on the page that is only visible at less than desktop resolution unless you use 3rd party code.

But you can do it in header, footer and stickybar!

If you could put your animated headline object in the header rather than the page you have the option to hide any object at a specific or lesser resolution, also, if you add an object to a lesser resolution it is visible only at that and lesser resolutions.

Hello,

Thank you for the promp response.

I know about the header, footer and stickbar posibility.

I was thinking that it is something similar, giving the fact that you are able to hide the section for lower resolution, but unfortunaly not for bigger ones.

Maybe it is a feature to take it in consideration for future versions.

Thank you,

Cristi

... if you were attentive and interested, you could have already solved in a very simple way if you posted the LINK ...
... just put the two objects individually in two separate lines ...

ciao

Ionescu C.

You should do what KolAsim tell you to do. When you give the link, he will inspect the page and then give you some code you can put in a html-object on the page - or put it in the expert tab for the page.

He need to find the ID of the object you want to hide - then he can supply you with some ready-made code that can hide the object(s) for the screen-sizes you want.

It is rather easy when you know howwink

@Gordon - the post you refer to, seem not to be comment-able anymore. maybe you could update it. I will then give it a +100 as this is a very useful feature, that should have been made long ago. It has been asked for by other users too.

(It > En)  ... ... in fact it takes little! wink ... ... I have now remembered a similar case solved by a German who followed the instructions, even though he didn't understand the language, ... very, very simple even for non-experts; ... you can also get there by yourself:   https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/it/post/231875#comment8

I do believe that you can now comment (revive?) the post,

I would like to note that there have been many other requests for this "feature" (but I cannot find them).

I know that it is possible to implement this via 3rd party code, but why should we? Incomedia do not support 3rd party code!!

@KolAsim - I already know how to do it. I have used it a couple of times. I use much the same technique when I want to make an iframe "really" responsive.

I just wanted to point out to Ionescu, that I guessed (on your behalf) you would/will supply him with some code adapted for his actual page. Then it will be really easy for him. If you are not experienced it could maybe be difficult to identify the ID of the object that should not be shown.

@Gordon - I totally agree. It should be a setting in X5. Why should users buy and/or update the product if too many things has to be made manually. I know that not all functionality can be made as settings in X5 - but this should be one of those that can. Some other web software has much more functionality/settings and then it is supported. If it was not for all the enthusiastic and helpful users here on the forum, I think INCOMEDIA would be in trouble. I have given your post a +100. I have not searched for other posts regarding this issue, but I know there are others. I would like to know how INCOMEDIA keep track of all the "wishes" from us users, and what algorithms they use to make some kind of priority.

... yes, I follow you from time to timewink; ... I saw that you use JS, always excellent, but now, as you have seen from the Topic indicated, it is even easier with media queries...wink...

Hello again,

I tried with the mentioned answer but is not working, maybe i'm doing something wrong.

"... just put the two objects individually in two separate lines ...

ciao

"two separate lines" - you mean Line breaks or simple separator?

I don't have a link at the moment, that is why I wanted to figer it out with the help of the software.

John S. is right regarding that this feature is available in the header (as mentioned), but in the body, we are unable to do it/use it.

Can someone help me with some detailed pictures of video?

Regards,

Cristi

... Sie können den Anweisungen des vorherigen LINK folgen, und mach es selbst, oder Sie können einfach ein kurzes Beispiel auf Altervista veröffentlichen...

Hello,

I put two animation side by side with diferent properties/font size.

If I chose to hide section 1 (that has the bigger font) fo the smaller resolutions it is ok, only the object with smaller font it is visible.

But at normal/desktop resolution both of the objects 1 and 6 are shown (visible).

Attached a screenshot.

Regards,

Cristi

Hello Ionescu

What you say is definitely true since the Responsive system currently allows you to hide elements for smaller resolutions but not the opposite

In such cases, it is helpful to consider designing the page's layout by keeping the mobile version of the website as simple as possible. Based on the design you currently chose, try to adapt the design to use a single Object that can be removed when on Mobile to work around the issue

I hope I was helpful

Stefano
