2 licenses with one computer. Did anybody meet the same absurd situation?
Autore: Jean-Pierre M.I have personally owned one EVO license for many years, just to get familiar with Websitex5.
Then, after retiring I volunteered to build a non-profit organization website, and I had them buy the Pro version, that I used on my desktop.
Then I volunteered with another non-profit org. and once again I asked them to purchase their own license of the Pro version.
Now, I have to face an absurd situation. I cannot use these 2 different licenses on my desktop.
This means that I have to resign from one volunteering job if I want to start the second one. As the first non profit cannot find somebody to replace me, their website will quickly die and we better delete it right now. They are not really happy with this huge shortfall from Incomedia Websitex5.
For me also, this is a problem and I will stop advising people to buy this product. Too bad because I like it.

Incomedia employeescan provide more detailed information.
If no money is taken for the work and the non-profit organizations do not work with WebSiteX5 themselves, then 1 license is sufficient.
Anyone who creates websites for other people for money needs the agency version at most and only once, but not multiple times.
The people and organizations for whom the websites are created do not need a license.
From version Pro 2024.3 onwards you are not allowed to sell created websites; the agency version is required for this. Up until the Pro 2024.2 version, it was still possible to create websites for money.
Maybe Incomedia employees can untangle the license knot on Tuesday.
Possibly add some information.
Hello Jean-Pierre,
is there a specific reason you need to distinguish the two licences?
For example, do they have different versions?
As long as someone at these organizations has WebSite X5 installed on a computer of theirs in case a quick change is needed, you can simply keep working with your licence on your computer.
I remain available.

Thanks for your answer.
The story is that I started a long "private" discussion with one Incomedia employee in November about this issue, before undertaking any damaging steps.
It was clearly explained that I am a hobbyist, volunteering for some NPOs. I don't make any money. -0- and it is not my intention to make any in the future.
I n Sept. 2025, I opened a website for NPO #1 with a Websitex5 Pro license they had purchased at my request.
In November 2025, I volunteered with NPO #2 for a website construction, and once again I wanted to use Websitex5 Pro. I wanted to avoid any license conflict, so I asked advice from Incomedia in the "Private" section.
The unequivocal Incomedia answer was that I had to buy personally the Pro version, which I did not want to do because I only volunteer.
All this lead me to work with 2 different licenses, for website #1 with my desktop (2 monitors) and website #2 on my laptop. My intention was to bring website #2 on the more comfortable desktop only when website #1 is fully removed.
As a consequence, after many discussions with both NPOs I triggered a Board meeting at NPO #1 warning of my immediate resignation. They could not find a successor for their website maintenance and opted for the only possible decision, i.e delete it. This is what I have been working on, in the last 2 weeks (integrating this website into another separate website that had been existing for a long time).. Needless to say they are not very happy!
As for website #2, I was only waiting to have a clean desktop to bring it in desktop from the laptop.
Strange situation!
Anyway, Happy Holiday and Happy new Year to all.

After the holidays, the Incomedia employees will be online again and can write something about it.
Since the free creation of websites for third parties is also possible with the new license from version 2024.3, 1 license is sufficient for the website creator.
The participating NPOs can share these license costs among themselves, then it will be cheaper for everyone.
Hello Jean-Pierre,
if the licences have the same version (I can only see one licence on this account) you can simply use the same instance of the software to work on both websites, this will not generate any conflict when publishing them.
If neither organization has a computer available on which they can use the software themselves if necessary, then the best option would be Daniel's suggestion: for them to provide you with a part of the licence cost, and for you to use a single licence registered to yourself.
