Converting Evo 8 into Evo 10?  en

I have my website saved in .iwp & .bws file types - that were prepared using X5 Evolution 8. This has probably been asked before, but is there anyway to open these in Evolution 10, or do I need to do a full rebuild?!

My Evo 8 build was also starting to develop quite a few bugs (one of the reason I chose to upgrade versions when I recently bought a new PC). Links were taking the user to an unspecified path, ghosts of the previous images were visible in slideshows etc.

Would these problems be more likely to be eliminated if I just started from scratch again?

Thanks for any help

Curtis,

It depends on the problems wehter or not it is solved if you use your old project.

So that's difficult to say, for sure if you start over it wood be good and you can directly pickup on all the items in V10. So if your project is not so big I suggest start again.

If you want your project to be transfered to V10 Incomedia can help you or a user with V9. I can help as well but you need to send me the project (take out personal info).

But if I copy it to V9 some things could have been changed and if you import in V10 also some changes could be there so you need to correct / check the whole project again after importing it.

So to sume up, if the project is not so big, start again.

If you want to try to export to V10 mail me the project

, I copy it to V9 and then send it back, that's no problem, you can then import v9 yourself in v10.

If you want Incomedia for you to do that, let me know I will tag this post for them to assist you.

Thanks for getting back to me - I think I will just use the opportunity to do a full rebuild & get a bit more practice in the process.

If you have any power over the powers that be though - could you ask them to make try & make future versions even more backwards compatible. My website isnt vey big but I feel sorry for those in a trickier spot.

Best Regards

Curt
