hi now i can't upload to the internet as everytime i put in my password it says unable to connect check with internet provider, I have changed my passwords in one.com which has worked in the past, can you help? thanks.

All I can say that connection should be possible with correct passwords
You can check pasive settings, and try to set it on and off.
But if ftp is correct and login name and you already had connection and changed password. Then I suggest change password again, watch out for cabs lock on/off.
It could be some time befor password works after changing, maybe that caused the problem.
or there is a problem at your provider ?
Hope this all helps you a bit on your way.

hi it still isn't working having changed passwords again in one.com can you advise. Thanks.
Do you have Inetrnet explorer version 11 installed ? This software gives problems uploading with x5 V8.
Try deinstall it or try uploading your files (first copy them to harddrive) with a seperate ftp program like filezilla.

hi no i never had any problems before uploading it's just the past couple of weeks. i have deinstalled and started again and copied them to hard drive too????
If you have internet explorer 11 on your pc then you need to deinstall this version of explorer. If you have a lower version then there is no need for deinstall.
You could try to connect to your webhost with filezilla this is an ftp program that does the same as x5 in step 5 . It uploads your site. therefor you need to export you site to harddrive. Then use filezilla to connect to your host, and then upload the files you have exported from x5 to harddrive. (your site that is)
You can download filezilla free from internet.
Something else you could try in x5 is set your initial directory in step 5 to empty.
if you then can connect select the correct map (usally something like http_docs then upload.

Try passive on / off.
