I have some trouble reproducing videos.
Youtube and Vimeo are OK, but I cannot reproduce any video from a file.
I tried MP4, MPG, AVI and some more formats, but none works out.
some browsers prompt me to install Microsoft Video, but it is perfectly installed and working on my computer
I use Version 11 Pro and Windows 8.1
Thanks for helping.

Hello Andre,
Can you post links to some of the videos which don't play?
Or to the page on the web which shows the videos?
Many thanks!

Hi Paul
the page with the NOT showing videos has been removed
it was based on movies on the local computer(mp4-mpg and more formats)
here are the links with correctly playing videos. (from youtube or Vimeo)

thank you for helping
Kind regards
Andre
I also have problems with video from file, mp4.
Hello Andre,
The best option is to use mp4 videos with the h264 codec which is natively supported on most browsers. Any other format or codec needs a plugin to be installed to work like mpg and avi files.
Check what codec you used for the mp4 videos in case use h.264. It would also be useful to see the page with the videos which are not working.
Many thanks!

Hi Claudio,
Thanks for helping.
I don not have that page any more since I deleted it.
my question is, whre can I get the plugins to reproduce more codecs?? and how can I activate them in my site?
Or could you help me with a link to obtain more information about this issue?
Kind regards,
Hello Andre,
You may find this link to some freeware interesting and useful:
http://www.h264encoder.com/
You don't need to locate or install any plugins in WebSite X5... you just need to convert your existing video files to MP4 with H.264 encoding, using any suitable software such as the freeware I've linked to. Then use the converted file in your WebSite X5 project.
This will ensure maximum compatibility with end-user browsers/devices.
The X5 help file explains the compatibility issue surrounding the various media formats:
