Hello Nikos,
Copying and pasting an entire HTML Code Object should be possible. If you're unable to do this can you please post either a screenshot of your error message, or alternatively the full text of the error message?
Copying and pasting the actual HTML code itself from within one HTML Code Object to another is a different matter altogether. If you try and do this you may find in some cases that the web page cannot be parsed correctly because of HTML syntax errors introduced as a result of changes to the formatting (it's not X5 crashing as such... it's a web page which cannot be rendered). The solution in this case is often to paste briefly from the first HTML Code Object into a plain text editor (such as Notepad), then copy again from Notepad into the second HTML Code Object.
Kind regards,
Paul

ok Paul i will post the error message and as an alternative i ve been doing copying the html code to notepad and then pasting to the html object. The only problem is that the greek words cant be accepted and trasformed to "?"
Hmmm, yes, I see what you mean.
Does it help if you go to the 'Format' toolbar within Notepad, and select 'Greek' script from the 'Font' properties?

sorry paul i wasn't accurate in my description,in notepad the greek words look ok,but when i copied on the html object ,tranformed to "?"
Hi Nikos, it's OK, my fault for the misunderstanding.
Yes, I can see exactly what the issue is now you describe it... I have tried pasting Greek characters into the HTML Object myself and get the same question mark instead of the actual letter.
I will ask Incomedia for their comments and help with this. It would seem that the HTML Code Object cannot handle non-English characters. However, there may be a cure or workaround.
Please watch this thread for an official reply from Incomedia themselves.
In the meantime, if you experience another crash when copying and pasting the entire Object, please do forward the error details as they will be very useful.
Thanks Nikos!
Hello Nikos and Paul,
I just tested it to see what exactly happens but the characters were displayed correctly like you can see in the attachment.
Can you please tell me if it happens with every text in greek and what charset is used in notepad since the charset could be the issue?
Can you please also tell me the exact steps done so I can test it?
Many thanks!
Good morning Claudio,
Yes, no problem, thank you for testing.
What I did in my case was as follows:
Open a new, blank project in Professional 11... drag an HTML Object onto Page 1 and open it ready for pasting.
I then copied Greek text from the following website:
http://generator.lorem-ipsum.info/_greek
All settings on that website were at their default.
I then pasted the text into Notepad. It displayed correctly and this is as shown in my screenshot.
On copying the text from Notepad and pasting into the HTML Object the text became corrupted, again as shown in the screenshot.
My Notepad font settings are also shown, but please note that I tried cycling through all the different 'Script' types, and also changed to 'Arial' font with no effect on the corrupted text.
Much obliged Claudio, as always.
Best regards,
Paul
Hello Paul,
Thank you for the steps. I tested it but also in this case it appeared correctly in the program.
Can you please try to add in the language bar in windows the greek language for the keyboard to see if then it appears correctly?
Many thanks!
Good morning Claudio,
I'm pleased to report that the Greek characters display correctly in the HTML Object after I added the Greek language as per your suggestion.
Just one extra detail... I also had to set Greek as the 'Default imput language' before it would work, but I suppose on reflection that is to be expected.
I have attached a screenshot for Nikos:
Thank you very much, Claudio.
Hello Paul,
Thank you for your test so we could find the solution.
It is necessary to have the language active otherwise windows will not allow to use these characters.
Many thanks!
