Hi Inco, Claudio, Paul etc,

I just uploaded my website and am excited but I have a few problems. First of all, my website looks different on different browsers such as Google Chrome and IE. For example, I chose green font for my link font, but on Google Chrome, it is pink font! On IE it is green the way I chose. Also in the header menu in my project, the font fit perfectly with the buttons and on Google Chrome it turns out it is not only a different font but it is cut off at some parts and will not fit. E.g.. In my project file and IE browser, it writes "Underground Music." In Google Chrome it is "Underground Mu..." It is cut off and has a different font comppletely!

Also, an even worse problem, I have published 3 blog entries in my project. But when I uploaded it to my FTP server as directed, only one blog shows up and not the 3 as I had intended! Why!? I tried to re-upload 4 times and it was the same! I even tried to add more blogs and re-upload and the same thing! Only one would show up in my site after uploading. The font and writing in my "About Us" section and others changed correctly but not the blogs or the font colours. I am very happy because the it looks great and is complete but at the same time am quite frustrated because it has many flaws that I did not expect... Please help me solve this as soon as possible to get my website working properly the way I intended when I rbought this software.

Thanks a lot for your awesome customer service and time. Claudio and Paul M especially have been so good and helpful to not only me, but many other X5 users so thanks for that.

L.

Thank you.

After uploading and checking your site again, you pc uses earlyer pages from memory.

To prevent this yuo can, when visiting your website again after changes, press ctrl-F5 to refresh the data of your pc and load all new content from internet instead of your data from older pages on your drive.

I hope this will solve several of the problems you mention.

Also, test the php settings of x5 together with your providers script settings.

In step 4 data access you can find your login for admin with password.

goto your site write behind the home adress   /admin so it's http://www.yoursite.???/admin to go to your admin panel.

Login with user name and password found in x5 step4 acces management.

Do the test (top left button) see if there are issues and if try to solve them. folllow onscreen instructions.

Let us know if there are still problems after trying the mentioned things.

A website adress would be helpfull so we can see and test also.

Goodluck.

Here is my site address. I thought I applied it but I didn't. www.beatsandrap.com. I did the refresh but it was the same. I also cleared cache but nothing changed. The font type, colour & especially the missing blogs are the problem. I uploaded 3 blogs & only 1 shows up. Strange as I didn't do anything different with the 2nd & 3rd blog.

Okay thanks

I see 3 blogs, are you loooking at 1 seperatly?

If you click on the right  CATEGORIES  -> Underground Music

you should see them all 3.

I see on al explorers a text that is too short.

Here is some information about fonts using.

I ussaly stick to standard webfonts, but if you use special font you need to send them with the website so the font is available on the computer where you view the site on.

Hello L Fiers,

Thank you for your kind words.  We are just ordinary users like yourself who would like to help if we can, so you are very welcome...  and we are all of us learning all the time...  none of us knows it all

Congratulations on your site going live online...  it is looking good!

Just a little comment which might be useful...  the links in your footer are pointing to local addresses rather than the ones on your server.

Oh yes. Thanks Paul for reminding me about the links. I had them at that temporarily because the site wasn't up yet. And thanks Andre. Well there was only one blog up but the next day I tried it and it was fine! I will look into the text situation too.

What about my text links inside the blogs? I chose them to be green in colour but they are pink in IE! How can I solve this? It's green on Chrome etc.

The links are actually green in IE too...  what's happening here is that you're seeing the colour change from green to pink because these are 'visited links' which you have already clicked on.

If you don't like the pink colour then you can change the colour of 'visited links' in Step 1 General Settings > Template Style > Page Item (drop-down menu) > Visited Link

The links change to pink for me in Chrome too once clicked on, as expected.  That's all working as it should

How can I tell which one is "special" and which is the "standard" fonts? This way I will know which fonts are the best to use that translate to all browsers perfectly the same the way I intend them.

I understand that the font "Verdana" is meant to be a standard and safe font to use for websites after doing some research according to what I read. This is the font I am using in my page titles and they won't work correctly on Chrome or IE and aren't placed correctly of get cut short. Is this not a standard anymore? I tried to find verdana in Google Web Fonts, but I could not find the font on there.

The standard fonts have a sign next to it in the pulldown menu of the fonts.
