Hello,
I have Evolution V9 and V11 installed, both with valid licences.
They have both been working for a long time.
Today, without reason, both of them required Activation again?
What the heck for please?
It took me a while to find my login for WebsiteX5 Answers so I could get my licence codes.
At first, my heart sunk as I thought they had both broken.
Does anyone have a valid reason for this happening?
Thanks.

Hi Chris!
Are you using your programs as administrator?
Please check the following:
- Version 9:
You can try to follow these steps:
Uninstall WebSite X5 and then delete the folder C:/Program Files/WebSite X5 v9 - Evolution
Once done donwload the latest Version of WebSite X5 from "Downloads" in your answers.websitex5.com Profile and install the downloaded file as Administrator with right-click Preferences "Run as Administrator".nOnce installed, choose to start the program as Administrator with the right-click - Preferences - Run as Administrator.
If this still doesn't work it could be an issue related with the Microsoft framework .NET 3.5, in this case after having uninstalled the software and deleted the installation folder, please try to remove the .NET Framework 3.5 from your pc and then use the FX Cleanup tool you can find at:
http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
Once the tool has cleaned the system download the Framework installer from following link and install it again:
http://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=25150
Once the .NET Framework is installed you can proceed to reinstall WebSite X5 as administrator with right-click - run as administrator.
- Version 11:
Please check if under C:\Users\ The Admin username \AppData\Local\Incomedia\ there is a folder called WebSite X5 v11 - Evolution and if the licence.iwl file is inside this folder.
If this folder exists and the file is there, copy the folder and paste it under c:\Users\ Your Windows username \AppData\Local\Incomedia and then start the program.
Thank you!
Samantha

Hi, I did the activation and all was good, until today, when it's asked me again?
What the heck?
I filled it in again and it works again, till next time.
I have Windows XP still, so no admin rights stuff and no AppData folder.
I have full access to my PC.

Ah!
This only happens when I restart my PC.
Usually, I leave the thing on permenantly!
But, if something crashes, I restart, then I have to re-activate both V9 and V11
Maybe that's a clue for somebody more technical ? :)

Hi, the licence file in XP is here only for V11
C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Local Settings\Application Data\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v11 - Evolution
There isn't one inside the V9 folder with that same path.
Should I copy this V11 licence file and paste it somewhere?
Thanks.

The licence file for V9 is in here:
C:\Program Files\WebSite X5 v9 - Evolution
Hi Chris,
please register your program again: add your licence key, register with the same email address and remember to disable antivirus and firewall before you start. The file is in the correct place because you are using Windows XP.
WebSite X5 Evolution 9 saves its licence in the installation folder meanwhile WebSite X5 Evolution 11 saves it where you pointed out.
I hope this helps,
Samantha

Hi, I have registered again (had to as I restarted PC again), but this time, I switched off my Avast AntiVirus for 10 minutes while I did it.
Here's hoping for the next restart... ;)
Thanks.

Nope :(
Need to register again, Pfft
Dear Chris,
please follow these steps https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_security_runas.mspx?mfr=true to start your program as administrator. You are going to have to register it one more time then start it as administrator in the future when you use it.
I hope this helps,
Samantha

Well, I did that and registered by right clicking and running as Administrator.
The registration worked and I was faced with no projects at all!
Scared me to death because they were all gone!
Closed it and clicked the usual; shortcut, had to register again, then they all came back.
So, I don't think that worked :(
Hello Chris,
Thank you for your answer.
Please try to start your computer as always, then go into the ''Preferences'' (you will find it on the bottom left hand side of the page when you start webSite X5) and copy your project file path to understand where your projects have been saved.
Once this has been done, please start your program as administrator, then go into the ''prefernces'' section again and set the same file path.
Now start your program and let me know if everything works correctly.
Thank you!

Hiya, did all that, but it still kept asking me after restart, pfft.
I've just changed PC's now and have moved to Windows 7, so I'm hoping it will be OK on that ;)
Fingers crossed..
Hello Chris!
Ok, thank you for updating me.
Please let me know if you need more help.
Thank you!
