i don't see page content on default templates, What am i doing wrong?
I select a default custom template and all I see available to utilize as a created custom template is the background /header/footer.
Is there are no premade page content framework in the templates?

The content you need to define yourself.
The template is the basis of all pages with a header picture a menu with 3 page and a home page and a footer. The text for your website and pictures and all other stuff you need to create yourself.
A custum template has an emty header and footer so you can design these yourself.
But to start off I recommand to search for a standard template you like. (or just for test to see how it works) you can choose on top in the template menu filters for horizontal or vertical menu or both to see all templates.

all the templates come with no content it is upto you to populate the templates with content.
