Hello Karel,

You can insert a server IP address in that field and everything will work just fine.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks Paul. I have an issue exporting my website. So IP addressing is not the problem.

I get 'invalid destination folder' response. Cannot figure out why.

When I specify the same parameters in Filezilla, all goes well.

A mystery.

Be careful with the use of forward slashes in the 'Destination folder' field.

What do you have entered in that field at present?

Either nothing or '/'. Nothing works.

When I specify '/draw' (one on the folders on the servers), it does not work either.

If you wanted to specify the folder 'draw' on the server then it would be done as follows:

draw

The preceding forward slash would cause an error  -  /draw

Perhaps this can aid you in troubleshooting?

You may also need to specify the public folder either as part of the FTP address, or alternatively in the 'Destination folder' field.  The public folder is often (but not always) called 'public_html'

I recommend that you set your server address in the 'FTP Address' field, and then point to your WebSite X5 project folder on the server in the 'Destination folder' field, with something along these lines:

public_html/root_folder_of_website_x5_project

the public folder is supposed to be 'httpdocs' according to the provider. But none of it works, wherever I put it. I can send you the ftp access parameters, but not here. Can I send it to your through email ?

What is the full path to your WebSite X5 project on the server, as reported by FileZilla?

You will find it in the field entitled 'Remote site', directly above your server directory listing.

If you can connect using the same FTP credentials as when using FileZilla then access credentials isn't the issue.  You simply need to mirror the relevant part of the file path shown by FileZilla in the 'Destination folder' field within WebSite X5, avoiding superfluous preceding and trailing forward slashes.

By 'relevant part' I mean that part of the file path which begins with your public folder (in this case 'httpdocs') and ends with the root folder of your WebSite X5 project.

Thanks for your help Paul and Barry. The system administrator of the server hosting 'www.tohl.be' took over my pc and tried several things in the X5 export panel. Nothing worked. He concluded 'the FTP client implemented in X5 is not compatible with their configuration'. I have second thoughts about that explanation. Anyway I'll ask them to redirect all references to 'www.tohl.be' to the webspace I have with another provider where I know X5 export works fine. That will be the easiest solution.
