Unwanted Space at bottom of text box, not showing in preview.  en

I have a very simple page, with 1 column of 7 rows, alternating text and graphics. At the bottom of one text row (13 lines of text) a large space appears before the next row, which is a graphic.

This space does NOT show on preview.  I have added different coloured borders to each box to check which box contains the unwanted space.

I have tried copying the text to Notepad and back to ensure there are no hidden layout codes from Word, or extra blank lines.

Both rows are set to 0 inner and outer margins, the text box alignment is bottom, centre and the picture Top, centre.

The preview function show perfect alignment as expected but when online the gap shows up.

The page is:

http://www.oldwinburnians.org.uk/jack-wright-.html

The text before the last picture has the space after it.

I attach a jpg showing the preview with no space, and the online page with the space.  My browser is Chrome but it is the same in Firefox and IE 9

I'm using Website 9 because, although I have version 12, I don't have the time to translate the project. A quick and dirty try in version 12 shows it to be the same with no space in preview.

How do I get rid of the space and why doesn't it show up in preview?

Thanks for your replay JJ but if you reread ny post you will see I have already done this,

"I have tried copying the text to Notepad and back to ensure there are no hidden layout codes from Word, or extra blank lines."

I have had something similar and I solved it by deleting all the junk on the page that I wasn't using. By junk I mean objects like video, slideshow, calendar etc that I added to check out but didn't delete afterwards.

To help others with this problem I will answer my own question but also ask 2 more which I hope WebsiteX5 can answer.

The problem was caused by the page's style sheet containing:

#imCell_5 { display: block; position: relative; overflow: hidden; width: 838px; min-height: 685px; border-top: 3px solid transparent; border-bottom: 3px solid transparent; border-left: 5px solid transparent; border-right: 3px solid transparent;}
#imCellStyle_5 { position: relative; width: 828px; min-height: 675px; padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px; text-align: center; border-top: 0; border-bottom: 0; border-left: 0; border-right: 0; z-index: 2;}

This set the minimum height for the text box at something far too large.  I have edited this with a text editor to 75px in each case and the page displays as it should.

You will find the page's style sheet in the PSS folder and it will have the same name as your page and a CSS extension.

So for this page:

http://www.oldwinburnians.org.uk/jack-wright.html

The file is jack-wright.CSS

The questions for X5 are:

1: Why does X5 set such a large height?  This is a single column page.

2: Why doesn't the preview function display the page correctly?

Moderator if you want me to ask these questions separately I will.
