Limitations of X5 12
Autor: Michael S.I have tried X5 abandoned it and come back to it but right now I see there are too many limitations in using this software. I have purchased templates but to go around these limitations they use scripts.
This program is supposed to be easy to use which it is but if I have to search, figure out how to use scripts and then use them, if this is the case then this software is not doing what it is supposed to be, simple.
I may sound as whining but it is very frustrating in doing things that other wysiwyg builders do so easily but this one is stuck to boxes that are so restrictive. You are stuck to one header size, you are stuck to a content size, no fluid full width on content areas for backgrounds or images or having different pages have different header sizes.
It is almost like stuck to a box and deal with it.
I like but really would have hoped after just buying X5 12 Pro that things would have changed, guess wait and see.

Like yourself I abandonned X5 (when it was not responsive) and then returned. In my case I wanted the security of a reliable program that let me easily maintain my websites. I avoid using any code not directly supported inside X5.
I have tried a couple of other programs that can do amazing things like full width banners, variable headers on each page, far more control over responsive views, content and header menus, but I found maintenance was a nightmare, and I also found the user experience with these sites was not consistent across all browsers.
I am hopeful that the features you mention will come to X5 but that it remains affordable when this happens. In the meantime I will work within the limitations of X5, most of my sites look great considering the amount of money and time I have invested in them.
