How can I remove the white page name bar?

On my level one pages there is a white bar with the name of the page. Is there a way either to remove it altogether or at least change the color?

I think you mean page title.
Step4 -> styles and models, pull down menu 'page title' in Text TAB, there you can change text colours or set it off or on.
