You can also use on the template a smaller header and then add the image meant for the header as top on the content section in step 1 only on the homepage so this image will be seen only on this page.

Or You could place the image in a slideshow.

You could have the image as the only image in the slideshow.

Then You can specify which page(s) the image(s) has to be visible on.

You can then specify the homepage as the only page the image will be seen on.

Doing it this way, will give make it easier for You, if You in the future will have other images to be visible on other pages. Or You can make a slideshow with various images, that will only be visible on the homepage.
