Thin lines on pages with a lot of cells and links  en

The question is regarding this page of my website in the test invironment: http://www.fawltyandjones.com/test/m-nest.html

On this page, with a lot of cells and links in it, there arise on some places strange thin lines. They are not shown in preview. But only after uploading the page to the server. The thin lines are visible in the Edge and I.E. Browsers. On Chrome and on the IPhone and IPad it works just fine. Also in preview (V13) there is no problem.

As long as there are no links on the pictures then everything works just fine. Also in Edge and I.E. But when I reopen the picture and put a link (to another page) in it, after that it goes wrong.

I had the same problem in V12 and V11. But then I could solve this by copying the whole page. Then deleting the cells with the problems from the original page. And then copy the cells from the other page, back into the original page. So I put the pictures including the links in the page in one time. So I did not have to open it again. Somehow this did the trick.

But, unfortunately this does not work in V13. So I am stuck with these thin lines, which do not belong there.

Attached a picture of (part of) the page, with on the left side the one in Edge, where you can see thin lines below 3 puppy heads. And on the right side the one in Chrome, as it should be. So on these pictures are links to other pages.

Do you have a solution for this?

In the meantime I only changed (in the responsive section) the position of showing the pictures on the mobile devices. And uploaded this. I did not do anything else. And now there are even more lines then before! I really do not understand where this is coming from.

Ruud, from your website I assume you have 8 cells across. Have you tried reducing the outer margins (right click cell, object style, edit). If this works, it is easy to use a cell to copy and paste as default style.

Hi Esahc. Thanks for your respons!

On this particular page I use 10 cells. All the cells have an outer margin of 0, because I use a coloured background (with transparancy). So that is why it is so strange. Also the inner margins of the bottom of the cell with the images, and the inner margins of the top of the cell with the name of the puppy's, are put on 0.

I tried making one correct cell and then copy it. But that did not work either. As soon as I trie to change something (text or link or whatever) then the thin lines appear. So that is why I made in the past a completely new page. And then copied one by one the correct cells into the new page, so that I did not have to change anything on the new page. Then delete the page with the thin lines. And, voila, that worked in V12 and V11. But in V13, unfortunately, does not work anymore.

I made another page with only one row of puppy's http://www.fawltyandjones.com/test/l-nest.html.On this one are also thin lines, but now they appear between the image and the name.

In preview it looks okay! Also in Chrome and on the IPad and IPhone. But the thin lines appear in Edge and I.E.

Ruud, this won't help, but it appears to be a limitation of the browser rendering mechanisms. In Firefox at default resolution there are no lines, but zoom with CTRL+ or CTRL- and the lines randomly appear. Have you considered using a background image for the page which is partially transparent and then you could set all cells as transparent.

Ruud - on reconsideration of my previous recommendation, you could overcome the problem by using the new row format option for all the cells where these lines are an issue by using a semi-transparent image behind them and making each image cell transparent.

Thank you very much for thinking with me!

Up till now I did not use/try that option. I guess you are right, that could be a solution! But I see that I can not do this for each row. It only gives me the possibility for the whole page at once. Or maybe I am overseeing something?

I tried it on this page http://www.fawltyandjones.com/test/l-nest.html And yes, then the thin lines are gone.

But I see that it is not possible to change the wide of the background. This page containes 10 cells in a row. And the images are in 8 cells only. So I wanted the black (transparant) background only as wide as these 8 cells. I do not see a possibility to change that?

But maybe for these pages it could be a solution.

I will try and play a little with this option. Maybe I change these pages a little, so that the wide of the background does not matter anymore. Let's try and see where it leads me to. And of course I will let you know!

Ruud, it does look good, but if you use the row format (step 4, pages top right icon above page layout) option you can in fact choose which rows of cells have a backgound.  Good luck. . . .
