How to make a website with a wide design

Good afternoon!
I work in the version of 12 PROF.
I can not understand how can I customize your own site template if I need to make a website?
The designer drew a site which:
width page background - 1920 pixels
the width of the content and the main horizontal menu - 1190 pixels
But the content is, turning into the page background continue to have no content. Similar in design of all pages on the site :(
I can not impose similar in websiteX5 12 PROF.
Tell me whether you can somehow solve my problem?

Did you use a ready template project? If yes which one?
The content you add in the pages is not shown at all or it shows the old one?
