Page Background Issue
Autor: Graham O.Hi Guys
My website has a black background with green text. I decided toi try one page with a pale background and black text. I did not like this so reverted to the original by changing the text colour then the page colour. Then the web page had a paqle vertical line running the full height of the page aligned on the right nand outer line of the box/frame surrounding the page.
I tried changing the alignment in step 2/customisation/template structure/page background/aligthment to top - right, but the line then appeared on the left so I changed it back.
I then went to the page/row formats and changed the colour to black. This removed most of the line, but there is a short secition at the top and at the bottom of the page. See the attached picture.
I've clearly done somethig wrong here, and I can't understand why simply changing the colour of the text and page background did not just revert the page to its previous state.
Can you tell me what I should have done?
This is difficult to say from a picture.
I think a background option in the template structure, (watch also the 4 responsive modes on the left side) is set to white instead of transparant. I would start there.

Thanks for this Andre. I've checked the template and all of the sections are set to transparent in the page section options. The responsive mode (on my desktop, where I do all of the work on my site) is showing the top option in responsive mode - desktop to 995 pixels.
All I did was to set the page background colour in the page - not the template - and the text colour, then returned to to what was set before. I only did it on the one page and did not change any other settings. not knowingly, anyway.
From what you say, I assume that it is to do with the reponsive site settings so I tried switching off the responsive site option with no change when using the preview. I then edited the desktop break point to 999 pixels and the 2 white lines were thicker, so then reduced it to 993 pixels and they disappeared.
So I then returned to the page, changed the row formats background colour back to transparent and again, in the preview, the line has gone, so problem solved. On my desktop anyway.
It is a real mystery why it happend though. Only the one page that I changed was affected and all I did was to change the BG and text colours.
Will the cure that i see on my machine also apply to other users with different size desktop monitors?
It looked realy like a pixel width of template settings. Why it changed after setting only 1 page different I can't tell. Anyway it should not react like that.
But I am glad It's fixed now, working with different background is nice but it takes some effort to get the template and objects especially around the footer header and menu.
Anyway if it's gone it should be ok in all previews if this is on your pc good as well. But you need to check all responsive modes yourself offcource and adjust if needed.
Use the preview for that on top you will see the colours of the screens that you can set and adjust the windows screen to check the colour bars in x5. if these are all good then you are save.
Small tip: Making changes to a template is always risky specially with a dark background. What I do is copy the project, work on the copy if it's good I set renome the old project as backup and rename the new one to the actual.
If it's not good you can always fall back on the original and delete the copy.
