Why don't you answer the question that was asked?  Where are the templates?  The ones I can see are awful and I don't want to 'refresh' my websites.  I want to use the old templates.  What use is an upgrage that costs £40 if it is not backwards compatible?

Good morning! Evo 9 has 1500 templates in it Pam.

It has 188 templates divided into 16 different categories. Each template has 8 different styles, that means 188x8= 1504 templates.

Cheeky man is right, you can customize your templates as you wish and import Evo 8 styles if you prefer them.

Templates are templates! Styles of a template do not make additional templates. Om the WebsiteX5 website, Step 1 in General Settings - it is stated that that there is "over 1500 templates and each one comes with 4 style options"

An update from one version to another should either include the proviously included templates or include a converter to update the previous templates. - Cheeyky Man - I would appreciate it if you could forward me a copy of the V9 Hardware template.

Website X5 Vesion 9 has some many nice improved features and is in many ways much superior to Vesiion 8 - but it cannot be considered an upgrade!

I still cannot figure out how to change text line spacing in V9 - what am I missing?

I only bought it because it promised 1500 templates (each with 4 style options).  Ever feel like you've been ripped off!  It's all very well saying you will change it now, what about the people who have bought it in good faith and then ended up with 188 mediocre templates?  and just to rub salt into the wounds most of the free templates have been removed from the website!!!! Nice one guys!

Yes I agree.

Version 9 is really rips us users of version 8.  I upgarded with hope that I have more template to work with.  It ends up less template than version 8 and all free template in version 8 are removed from the web.

Not good.

I cannot even get 50% as specified during the upgraded.

There aren't less templates than in Evo 8 Quang! All the template packs have been added to Evo 9 + the old ones have been restyled! To be precise there are 1504 all toghether and each style is a different template!

If you wish to work on the old Evo 8 templates, you can customize them in Evo 9, if you wish to have new ones, you will find them in Evo 9.

The free templates instead, have been removed just for a while. Some of them where created with Evo 7 and some with 8, therefore we are going to convert them so that they may work correctly on all versions and put them back gradually as soon as possible.

That sounds good. I Have got 2 Customers which decided  to take the Template "Mercedes" the other one likes to have "Chips" If I can´t serve them with that named Templates i loss Orders, Customers an Reputation and Money!!!

WebSite X5 is not an HTML editor, it is a HTML builder. For this reason it creates the HTML code from zero starting from the user settings. This reason explains why the converted projects could not be exactly the same of v8.

Just think about the fact that v9 saves the pages as HTML5 instead of XHTML 1.0. This is the first big difference from v8 but I think you like that!  

In every new version we need to refresh the templates gallery and I think it is good.

WebSite X5 has the possibility to create a template from zero, so you can recreate the template you want starting from the original images. I personally think that with the release of a new version it's a good idea to re-style the website. In this way you can really apply what's new

Well, regarding the templates I can just confirm you that we had to create 1500 images for the header, 1500 images for the footer, etc. Infact if you search into the templates folder you will find 1500 'top.jpg', 1500 'bottom.jpg' etc. We have to do that even if the difference is only the hor or ver menu type.

I think that WebSite X5 is good for many reasons and not only for the templates that you can even find for free over the Internet, but, if you think that this is not correct in our advertising you are free to ask for a refund and we will respect your decision.

When I'm importing - the templates goes to a mess, and if I try to rebuild V8 templates in V9 they don't fint into the predefined arrays. Why should we upgrade to this new version? It works slower, it can't import old works and all of ours old templates are lost.

Hi Jens, we added new templates, refreshed other templates and remove some of them. To re-use a v8 template, you need to set the same size (width and height) for any section of the template (header, footer, etc). The size you need to set is the same of any image of the template (top.jpg, content.jpg, bottom.jpg, etc).

How come the upgrade doesnt find the alreday installed templates?

Seems totally annoying and not worth the money to upgrade

Hello Monica, in the version 9 we renewed most of the templates, add new templates and remove some really old templates. You can still use the old template just using the Custom Template Option at Step 1. Please follow all the info we added in this guide at www.websitex5.com/v8tov9
