How to save projects to folders?
Autor: Terry K.New to Website X5, just purchased Pro 14. I've found that you can set a 'projects folder' under preferences in the program, but I have many (60+) clients that I develop and maintain websites for, and it's always been my practice to keep each clients website in their own individual folder.
This doesn't seem to be possible in X5? I would think it would be as simple as the standard "Save As" in all other programs I've used, but I can't find this option in X5. I do see that you can Export and Import, but when I start a new project why can't I simply save it to a designated folder of my choice (client folder) instead of a single 'projects' folder or having to export/import?
If I'm missing something, I'd appreciate any guidance here. If not, are there any plans for adding this option?
Thanks in advance...
Under the folder you selected the different website projects have their own individual folder. In your case 60 different folders.
....\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v14 - Professional\Project1
....\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v14 - Professional\Project2
....\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v14 - Professional\Project3
etc.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I see that each project creates a new folder (or sub-folder) using the name of the project.
The thing is, I do a lot of things for these clients. Websites, networking and wi-fi, online and standard marketing materials, software and hardware maintenance, etc. So each client has a folder with all these things contained in a single place for easy access and easy backups. And yes, I do also fully backup all drives regularly.
I'll work with X5 some more and see how it goes (compared to other software I've been using), and if X5 turns out to be as good as the marketing says I guess I'll just have to change the way I do things. Though I still think a 'Save As', or at least a project specific folder specification during initial website creation, would be a good thing.
And thanks again for the reply. I do look forward to fully testing X5...
