Unable to open project

Hi there, Just before Chritmas I was making some small adjustments to the sticky menu function on my project and suddenly windows closed down. On re-opening, my project graphic has disappeared and the date is set at 01/01/0001. on trying to open this I get the emssage "root element is missing". I do not have a manual backup of this project, is there an automatically stored version I can access or is there a way to reset the root information as all the files are still present for the project?

You could try the backup button in x5, select the project and press it, try to redo the file(s) that are there.
I hope this helps, if not I am afraid you need to start over again.
As you already know, make always backup's from time to time, especially after major changes. Do this with step5 export project and save it on another drive then the project in on so that if a drive failure occurs you have someting to fall back on.
