When I move our website to a new domain name on a VPS, I included a welcome message explaining the new URL, and had a link to take users to the HOME page. Now, I unchecked the show welcome message, removed the image & link. (see attached)

The welcome page not only still appears, but causes errors when I try to upload new information to my site. The other day I made a number of changes including adding files and renaming files and none of them actually uploaded (verified by looking at file structure with FTP) until I turned the welcome page back on.

How can I resolve this problem?
