Picture size after update from version 13 to 15

hi all
i just updated from professional 13 to professional 15 version and have a very unpleasant situation. All pictures in my website used to be resized in version 13, original pictures from my computer are more than 20mb, unfortunately the new version keeps the original size that makes my website size 2.7gb, the 13version was about 300mb.
if the solution is to resize manually each picture i would prefer to downgrade to the 13version
if anyone has any idea on how to solve this, any help highly appreciated
